Presser was yesterday - GREAT stuff from Kevin Cunningham. I have to go with Alexander, 300 Am fights, and hasn't lost a round since turning pro. Just a perfect technical fighter with surprising power. Runs circles around Urango.

All in on Devon , he is going to make a statement here similar to Ward vs Kessler minus headbutting ...

Hasn't lost a round since turning pro? Who you kidding?

Obviously I think Alexander is going to school Urango (check my bet), but no way he swept Witter or Corley.

This seems like it would be exciting based on the styles involved, but both guys manage to be pretty boring within their styles as individuals, so I'm not holding my breath for a FOTY. :yep

I've been watching Alexander for a while, and I definitely think this guy is develping some decent power during the last year or so. Early in his career he couldn't even stop a shot, fragile Miguel Callist despite landing at will, but against Witter he punched with real authority. This guy is going to grow into a star someday.

I haven't seen enough of him to know but I wonder if he's a bit like Hasegawa? Has the power but wasn't necessarily trained to sit down on 'em until pretty well into his career, then he's a known puncher once he gets the hang of it?

alexander by descision is obviously the safe bet, but i like a gamble so 400 on urango by ko/tko. he might only need to land 1 big punches, its just whether he can or not.

Devon was the smart money but certainly not by stoppage...did you just have him to win or were you one of the dumb lucky ones who got that 4/1 payout? :yep

Nah I just lumped on the safe bet, Alexander outright. I'm not a huge fan of method of victories, many here seem to be looking at the bets made.

It didn't surprise me hugely, I found it unlikely he'd stop him but it was always at the back of my mind Urango walks forward onto things.

To be honest I think Urango with an ounce of common sense would have lasted the distance comfortably. He got caught by a good one but he was only 'stunned' at most. He fucked himself by trying to be macho man and rushing in again, didn't allow himself time to recover.

He seemed clear eyed to me after the 2nd KD, but you can see how/why the official chomped at the bit.

Of course, I was only half paying attention as my patience with HBO's inferior card while waiting for Darchinyan-Guerrero to get underway had worn very thin. :yep

What did you think of the stoppage itself?

Premature. I always like to see fights go on a bit longer than many refs allow these days. I can understand them not wanting to be the guy that has a serious injury on his watch but I think they're too quick to jump in as a result.

Especially with a guy like Urango in a title unification fight. That deserves a little bit of common sense and special consideration. Urango is a very tough guy that has shown he can recover in the past. So it was a bit disapointing. It was his own fault though for being stupid, the ref shouldn't have had that opportunity.
