He can beat any fighter around at this moment in time. Including Pacquiao and Barrera. Discuss.

agreed. one my top 10 all time favorite fighters. for such a slightly built guy his power was unreal, and it carried on (though diminshed) to four weight classes. had amazing all action fights with olivares, escalera, pryor, chacon, mancini etc... always gave the fans their money's worth. the definition of a champion inside and out side of the ring too (though i think he went through a short, rough, drug filled period post career. though now i hear he's doing good, and is even vice mayor or something like that.) arguello would quickly dispatch the present top guys at feather, super feather and lightweight, he losses to hatton at 140.
is'nt mayorga married to his daughter?? that gotta be some crazy family dynamics.

I think the only guy in the last 30 years who would consistently beat Arguello from 126-135 would be Duran. It pains me to admit that since I really do not like Duran. PBF would give AA fits at 135, but remember, Alexis was a 15 round fighter. I think he would be behind on all score cards, but KO PBF late in the fight. The guys was just unreal when it came to finding a way to win.

I think Arguello's a bit old now, but in his prime, he'd be a challenge for any boxer of his size in history. Considering how pleasing on the eyes his style was, the way he's been forgotten by many is criminal.
