I honestly think that Jeff Lacy can comeback strong, win titles, and make it back into the top10 PvP rankings again (Ranked top5 by Marvin Hagler pre-Calzaghe fight)
I think a tune-up fight to get the ring rust out and test the shoulder. Then a match against Manfredo. After that win fight 2 or 3 fights against Allen Green/Anthony Mundine/Lucian Bute/Mikkel Kessler.
Pre-Calzaghe fight, I would have favoured Lacy against any of the names ive mentioned. If Jeff hasnt lost it mentally, I still think he can be a force,

Lacy was overhyped, no way he was p4p top10 before the Calzaghe fight.
He will murder Manfredo and he can be a force at 168 though.
But he won't dominate the SMW division and thus won't be a p4p boxer.

(b) Lacy was never considered to be a P4P quality fighter. Even at the time of the Calzaghe fight, he was rated behind Kessler.

He could do, but there's a lot of improvements and changes to be made for that to happen.
Kessler ? Bute? Mundine??? Lacy is not in the same class as those 3. With all the fighters moving to SMW, he wont even be in the 169 lbls top 10 IMO. But i would really like to watch Lacy vs Jean Pascal. This would be a good fight Beetween a ery good prospect in Pascal and a good fighter in Lacy. I think Pascal would UD him but im a big fan of Pascal so i am biased on this one....

Watch as the same thing happens with Kessler, once he loses you guys will rate him as nothing special.
Oh and they were not fake Contender results. The Contender is done a month in advance. Just watch and see what happens is exactly how I told it to be.

I'm just stating facts - Kessler was ranked above Lacy in the Ring rankings in the weeks leading up to the Lacy-Calzaghe fight. Most Americans DID think Lacy would beat Calzaghe before the fight, but that was in great part because Calzaghe hadn't fought a meaningful fight in years at that point and because he didn't look that great against third-rate opponents prior to then. And Calzaghe DID gain a lot of respect after the Lacy fight, evidenced by him vaulting into the Ring top 10 P4P list after the fight, where he'd never been before.
Most people here still think Lacy is good, but to say he'll be top 10 P4P is ridiculous. The people hating on Lacy are mostly doing so on the basis of inactivity, but he's still ranked as a top 5 SMW.

Lacy would have been top 10 based on potential and ability but no sane person would rank him top 10 based on what he has achieved.

Well I don't think anyone ranked him top 10 p4p before the Joe Cal fight even happened. He was ranked at #1 at super middleweight sure, but he was still viewed as a flawed fighter with something to prove so no one ranked him high in the p4p rankings.
Lacy was never ranked at #1

Jeff Lacy got broken by JC. He was mentally and physically dismantled over 12 rounds of hurt, and I don't think there's any coming back from that.
He relied on an aura of imposing invincibility, like Tyson, and it's all gone now.

The hype that followed Lacy around pre-Calzaghe was huge. Stateside he really was regarded as the next BIG thing and a dead cert to kick JCs arse. Funny how everyone (in the US) said he was just a limited bum....after he lost. Who the hell needs 'fans' like that? I actually like Lacy a lot as a man and he was exciting, but flawed, as a boxer. He certainly didn't deserve the shit that his compatriots gave him.

He has never been among the top 5 of his weight division,let alone among the top 30 of the ppp list.
Lacy was schooled by Calazaghe,and got a gift decision against Vitaly Tsypko.
In his last amateur fight he was stopped and taught a lesson in boxing by Gaidar Gaidarbekov.
Yes,he can punch,and yes,he is no bum,but a lot of posters tend and tended to overrate him.
He is no top gun,and will never be one.
