gotta feel sorry for peter,at this rate they'll have to pay tyson to step in.
Promoters don't want their guys in unification bouts, and fighters are happy to tak emoney and duck each other. If fans would just boycott pay-per-view of bullshit title belt fights promoters would have to do unifiaction bouts.

ESPN:
Citing an anonymous source, the newspaper reported that Infinity Longevity of Boca Raton, Fla., a clinic associated with the Signature Pharmacy scandal, supplied drugs to McCline from March 2005 until last December. They included steroids like stanozolol and nandrolone, along with human growth hormone, testosterone and tamoxifen, an estrogen blocker taken by steroid users to keep them from developing feminine physical characteristics.
:rofl Hmmm. I wonder who the "anonymous source" was? Maybe Maskaev's camp :think

Holyfield has the same exact charges and is getting a title fight. Although, Holyfield certainly shouldnt get a title shot , after being caught with HGH, and steroids.

I refuse to believe they will stop the fight based on a 'report'
if he tested clean - he tested clean.
PLEASE let the fight go on.
Sam Peter already destroyed a steroid-laden James Toney - he'll do the same with McCline
Yeah, sure Toney was on steroids against Peter . Only Toney gets caught because he is an idiot! Were as Mccline, Holyfield, Briggs they know what they are doing , and how to be clean by testing time.

The difference is that the Russian boxing authorities could give a rat's ass about steroid use. In New York, they actually care about that kind of thing. I doubt Holyfield would be able to fight in New York either.

Barring Texas, I'm not sure if Holyfield can fight in too many places within the US.

It's New York they arent going to take that shit. It could be someone from the undercard such as Golota, Williamson, or Meehan, to get a shot now.

NEWS FLASH
McCline steroid scandal?
Heavyweight contender Jameel McCline, who is set to challenge WBC interim heavyweight champion Samuel Peter on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, has been accused of receiving more than $12,000 worth of steroids, human growth hormone and related drugs. Citing an unnamed source 'familiar with the clinic,' the New York Daily News is running with a story that alleges that McCline received testosterone, Stanozolol and Nandrolone, along with human growth hormone and Tamoxifen between March 2005 and December 2006. NYSAC chairman Ron Scott Stevens plans to huddle with the Attorney General's office to see what effect the allegations will have on Saturday's fight. McCline has never failed a drug test.

99% of the riders of the Tour de France 1999-2006 had been tested clean.
But it's common knowledge that at least 75% did use banned substances.
These tests mean shit. Only the dumbest athletes fail these tests.
EDIT:
Shane Mosley cheated five days before the ODLH fight and passed the drug test.

You're on this crusade against steroid users. You don't even talk boxing without bringing it up. You just need to get laid or something cuz it's pretty pathetic already.

The fight will still go on, they will do the proper testing after the fight, if Mccline wins it might end up being ruled a "no contest", either way Peter still keeps the title. There should be no reason this fight shouldnt happen unless Peters handlers refuse to fight Mccline because of his recent involvement with illegal substances.

That was the same thing I was thinking. I would be shocked though if the bout doesn't take place. Worse that might happen is that they make it a non-title fight for Peter, and deduct some money from McCline's purse. However, I don't think even that is going to happen because McCline has never tested positive!

No matter who squealed the Feds are at the root this. There's been a lot of activity on the banned substances front lately and lots of recent interviews going on. Anytime the Feds interview someone the last thing you want to do is lie to them about anything. They'll give you five in the slammer just for lying and there's been some rolling over going on. Marion Jones made the mistake of lying to the Feds and now she's facing 5 years. With the new surveillance powers and people squealing I think we're just seeing the beginning of a lot more names going down.
This fight is in a real quandry. It's going to be seen as tainted if McCline wins.
