View Full Version : Super featherweight battle: Mayweather vs. Pacquiao

SweetScience

As we all know, Mayweather was once a super featherweight in his career. And Manny is one right now. Who do you think would win this one? The 2001 Mayweather that knocked down Diego Corrales or the 2006 Pacquiao that demolished Erik Morales in 3 rounds.

ahahah OMG.. Don't nobody ever get it twisted by thinking the current version of FLoyd was anything like a 130lbs version. At 130, he had it all, speed, power, finesse, the whole nine, and he would have easily dissected pacman's mindless attacks..

Floyd KO6 pac

Well we have done this a dozen or so times, and the consensus is that PBF is too big for Pacman...and well, too good.

Morales is EXACTLY the same height and reach as Floyd, do you want
to tell that Floyd is much bigger than Morales at the weight of 130 lb?:nut

So the same size as Morales, the same wight and still much bigger :-(:patsch
...... WHERE THE FUCK IS THIS CONSENSUS FROM :patsch:patsch:patsch:patsch:patsch

Also do you really think that Floyd at 130lb was much better than
MAB, Morales or Marquez?

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Consensus is from the 10 or so polls that this has been done on. They are lopsided in favor of PBF.

Morales is NOT as big as PBF, they carry their weight entirely different. Morales is a bean poll much like Corrales and not nearly as solid as PBF, which is why PBF has fought 19lbs heavier than Morales has ever fought.

And yes, PBF is a much better fighter at 130 than Morales and MAB who's prime weights were lower than this. And JMM hasn't done enough at 130 to be mentioned with arguably the greatest SFW of all time in PBF.

The red one: its completely not true at the same weight of 130lb.
Even if you tell that Floyd have different bone structure than Morales
it only means Morales at the same weight as Floyd have more muscles.
Doesnt matter that Floyd fights currently at 19 lb higher weight than
Morales ever did ... at 130lb they are EXACTLY the same :deal

Green one: How did you exactly measure FLoyd is much better than
Morales or MAB at 130 lb? PAC have already proved he was better than
Morales and MAB .... isnt this tell you he would be competitive with Floyd?

Morales and MAB, fight nothing like Floyd. The closest Pac has faced, style wise to PBF, at 130 was JMM. In that fight he managed only a draw despite knocking JMM down 3 times. JMM was clearly outboxing Pac for a good stretch in that fight. Floyd is faster, hits harder, and has a much better defense than JMM.

Morales or MAB at 130 lb? PAC have already proved he was bettr than

The red one: This would hold more weight if they didn't weigh in THE DAY BEFORE the fight. Morales has only been able to make 130 (now he is too big for that) because he has aged. Meaning that the 130 version of Morales is older and less muscular. PBF was bigger and stronger at this weight because of his musle mass and the way his body is built. Measurements are not the entire story.

The green one: Pacman never beat MAB at 130. This is their first fight there. Fighters carry weight differently. Beating them at one weight means nothing at another. Morales best weight was 122 just like MAB's was. So beating them means nothing when comparing him to fight Mayweather, who was far more dominant than they were at 130. PBF is faster, hits harder, and yes was BIGGER than MAB and Morales at that weight. Its why he has been able to move up comfortably to the weights he has. Everyone's body is different.

Are you going to tell me that every fighter that fights at a weight class are the same size? If you are, you are sadly mistaken. Weigh ins happening the day before certainly changed that.

By keeping this simple i just think mayweather is the superior boxer and it doesnt matter what weight this matchup takes place. Floyd is the best in the world right now and has been for a long time, he wins this one either by stoppage or impresive UD.

You guys just wait for the real thing to Happen.

In Recent interviews by Pac in Yahoo.com [Only registered and activated users can see links] he said he's moving up in to 135 for his next fight. Maybe a couple of Dominating wins there at 135 & maybe we will see this fight Happen at a Catchweight.

Roach & Arum also take a shot at Mayweather saying How he don't deserve to be called #1P4P. Saying he's Boring & not a complete fighter. Let's see what Floyd has to say with this??? I'm sure his ego will be hurt & will declared war with Arum & Roach. He'll probably say something like this: " I'm the Greatest fighter in the world what are you talking about?? I'll beat your Boy Easily. I'll take him to school. Hey Bob, show me the Money & I'll fight him at anyweight!!!"

PBF would Knock Pac out. if he though Marquez could box...whew.

Manny, couldn't handle the power of Floyd at that weight either.

And A Prime undefeated IBF champ Diego Corrales is PBF's best win @130.

IMO Floyd was never that impressive, he wasn't half the defensive "technician" he was at feath. You can't really tell me floyd was better than a prime barrera or morales at that weight. Theres no way that floyds getting a KO either, Pacs got a solid chin. The power advan goes to Pac too, but that dosent mean there will be any kos. I could easily see a decsicion for floyd, as I could much more probably see a Pac KO.

PBF didn't fight at 126.

And PBF was certainly better at 130 than MAB and Morales. What evidence (resume, physical ability?) is there that Morales or MAB is better than the fighter many consider the best SFW ever?

Floyd being overrated. Lets not forget his two cutthroat wins at 135 against Castillo. With his speed and agressiveness Pac could cause Floyd hell at 130.

Mayweather, fresher and faster than JMM, would tear Pacquiao's offense apart with accurate counter punching to the point where Pacman would be hesitant to attack. PBF by wide UD.

Well what did you find absurd about my post?

I find it absurd that you say PBF was never as good defensively as he was at FW when he moved to SFW, when he never fought at FW.

I find it absurd that you are comparing MAB and Morales at 130 to PBF when PBF had more title defenses than those 2 combined at the weight class, never lost and beat more than his fair share of champions at the weight class.

It's definitely a tough call... Cause at 130 it seems Mayweather was a more complete fighter but the competition was much different..

May on paper seems the better man at 130, but a faded Hernandez, and a never quite elite Chavez are his best accomplishments at the weight.. While Pac went tooth and nail against Marquez in a fight that could've went either way, and lost to Morales at the weight...

So really hard to say, maybe a slight advantage to Floyd.. But not by much..

Funny to see how Pac never stands a chance against any great fighters in mythical matches...

^ Marquez is tougher and has a better chin then Floyd.

It was only the boxers who boxed, had a great chin and put combinations together that gave Manny trouble back then. Floyd was always just looking to potshot , and against southpaws he squares himself up. He can't take the kind of punishment that a Morales or Marquez can. I'd have to go with Manny. I think he's a bad style matchup for Floyd at any point in time.

You breath on Marquez and he falls down. How is his chin better then Floyds. :nut

Tougher? thats not proven. Floyd responds to adversity well as shown in previous fights.

Floyd potshot at 130?

Floyds faster, stronger, quicker, better footwork, and better defensively.

FLoyd has lost a total of 3 rounds to the 3 southpaws he's fought in his career. He shot out 2 of em. Beat the shit out of the other.

Pacquiao meanwhile has lost to Morales who employed a counterpunching style. And a draw and a controversial victory over Marquez who is all counter punching, a fighter whos punch out put is barely above what Floyd dishes out now at welter, let alone super feather.

Mayweather would stomp Pacquiao at this weight, you know it, I know it, everyone knows it.

This shouldn't even be up for debate, Mayweather was on another level back then and in my opinion is the GOAT at 130.

I don't doubt Pacquiao would have gave him a good fight as would Marquez but better than him at 130? No chance...

At 130, Pac was still the one dimensional destroyer and his foot movement was good, but not great how it is today. He was much flawed and no doubt he would put up a good fight against Floyd, I think even hurting Floyd pretty bad, but his lack of defense, his one dimensional style and recklessness he had at the time might of worked against him against Floyd. But also to be fair, Floyd wasn't the thinker back then like he is today either, Corrales had the power Pacquiao had, but didn't have the speed to give Floyd fits. Oscar, Judah, and Mosley are the only speedy fighters Floyd has faced and they all gave him fits. I'm sure even a one dimensional Pacman would of given him also and it wouldn't of have been as easy as many here think. I think it would of looked similar to the Judah fight. Something like 7 rounds to 5 for Mayweather.
