View Full Version : The Bomber wants to smash Braehmer

ishy

"I want to shoot down Braehmer by the end of 2011," stormed Bellew.

"If I get him it will be like Dambusters all over again.

"I'm just like a Lancaster Bomber, I'm a classic fighter like the old days - just like John Conteh. Braehmer will get well and truly blown out of the water.

"It would be a great shoot out because Braehmer's got a fantastic KO record and looks like a decent puncher.

"But I want to test myself against the best and Braehmer's would be a great test."

Oh yeah shit hasn't he got 16 months for assault ? I think it may have been suspended or he has put it off due to his fight in April ??

Listen I like Bellew and he is a good fighter, i think he will get to world level, and he is a great poster but he hasnt faced anybody close to domestic level yet so

calling out Cleverly and Braehmer is getting a bit boring and its getting to cocky. beat some decent guys, and then he can start talking about Cleverly and world titles because he is a million miles away from Braehmer at the moment.

even in his next fight for the Commonwealth is agaisnt a bit of a joke opponent. afrobum the term most would use.

if Liam Walsh or Stephen Smith started calling out the world and european champions in there weight they would get laughed at, and in reality Tony is at the same level as them, top prospects that have not faced anyone of note yet.

Flea Man

bELLEW IS ALSO 27 WITH GOOD AMATEUR PEDIGREE (oops caps)

As I always say, Sung Kil Moon and Jeff Fenech won a World title within tenf ights. Pushing forward early is not unheard of and not unattainable.

Dan684
03-01-2010, 12:36 PM
Rob.

He's 27 and everyone of note in the UK has refused to fight him. When he wins the belt next month and that doesn't turn out to be an incentive for other lads to want a shot, what else do you expect him to do. If he cannot get decent fights on the domestic scene then why can't he go straight onto the world scene - I don't see why if him and Arnie think he is ready for these kinda chances he shouldn't go for it. Braemer isn't fucking fantastic by any means.

ishy
03-01-2010, 12:38 PM
Exactly he's 27 and should be pushing on with his career. If he can't get the domestic fighters in with him then he should look beyond them.

Flea Man
03-01-2010, 01:03 PM
Exactly. Which if the best domestic fighters did Khan face before having a World title?

I'd prefer Bellew to get rid of the useless filler and step it up. He wants to, let him prove himself. People moan when fighters get to 30-0 without fighting anyone of note, and yet when a fighter expresses a desire to step it up he's derided.

if you think Bellew would beat Braemer if they had a fight next month your insane.

get some people over from the states. they wont know who the fuck he is and will come over for a decent pay.

Tony Bellew will smash him up...:bbb :bbb

I respect everything that Cleverley has won and acheived but he will get KO'd too by Tony when the first decent shots land...:yep

He's not gonna be fighting him next month is he, he has a fight :good

Braemer really isn't stand out mate at all. There's nothing to suggest that a. we have seen the best from Bellew and b. there's obviousl flaws to be exploited.

I doubt very much they are targeting Braemer for his next fight, merely just getting his name into the mix as doing in the UK has thus far proved pointless. Even if he did fight Braemer next, i'm not saying he would defo win but I can't see why us thinking he could would be insane ?? He was a tremendous amateur at a higher weight and like I said before he's 27 and there is nothing that suggest he wont go far.

There is definitely a reason why virtually nobody in the Uk will fight him and it isn't money pal. 1 particular fighter was offered more to face Bellew in a non title fight than he took for fighting Cleverley in a double domestic fight ?? Can't see any sense in that can you?

and Bellew doesnt have flaws??? he hasnt faced anyone on the fringe of domestic level so we have no clue how good he is.

Braemer has only two losses and thats to guys who our fringe world class in Garay and Veit. he went 12 rounds with both. He has 28 KO's in 35 wins so he is clearly a huge puncher. He has been fighting a better level of opposition than anyone Bellew has faced for 8 years. Bellew has never been beyond 4 rounds, Braemer has had over 10 12 round fights.

to think Bellew would win this fight is completely ridiculous and INSANE.

If Braemer is that bad, he wont be champion in a years time, so why even talk about it.

If Bellew wants tough tests get some americans over. Yusuff Mack, Byron Mitchell, Jeff Lacy, Joey Spina would all be tests and if Bellew is as good as he and others claim he would walk through them.

it might not be his fault but he shouldnt be calling out world champion when he has done nothing but beat journeyman for 2 1/2 years since turning over.

Like I said, i'm not saying he doesn't potentially have flaws, but like you alluded to regardless of the oppostion the flaws haven't been highlighted, so until they are you cannot say either way :good

And on a similiar point if he keeps knocking people out as he moves up in class will there still be the point of discussion as in "He hasn't gone past 4 rounds...." "He hasn't gone past 6 rounds....." - It isn't his fault that the fights haven't lasted. And for the record mate his last fight went 6 (Ableit because of a slight injury) :good

Also I believe your being a little unfair with regards to Velecky :good A very worthwile opponent. Not Tony's fault that he was iced in 1 :yep

Veit was his mando, he'd strung 15 wins together since his fight with Calzaghe.

He'd still only lost the one fight out of 40-odd.

Still shit though I agree.

Fair enough however you seem to want to pick holes in any arguments for a fighter who posts on here or a boxer who's coach posts on here regularly purely out of a need to stand out and not be known to 'ass-kiss' them because they are on here :good

So I can't tell what your genuine opinions are with regards to such fights :good (not just on this occasion)

wrong actually. I have never said anything negative about Bellew until this thread.

i have said on many occasions the Bellew, Gavin, Ashley Sexton (all ESB posters) are in my top 5 prospects along with Groves and Stephen Smith and will get to at least euro level.

Infact i didnt rate Gavin until he posted on here and i started watching him a bit more closley.

The Billy Nelson/Willie Limmond thing. I was standing up for what I beleive in with the WBU and allot of people on here completley bottled it and started kissing ass. I may have gone over board but thats only becuase others refused to voice the same opinion they would have for a non ESB poster.

Billy comes on here and only posts about his own fighters and says they would take any fight and beat anybody, and that never gets backed up. the 2nd you give an opinion he doesnt like he goes off on one. thats why we dont get on.

That suggests he worked with him so I don't think that qualifies.

2010 is a crossroads year for Bellew, he can not be at the end of Year blowing bums out in 1 rd as he finished this year and Tony, Jindrich Velecky is not an impressive name to have on your record.

After fighting Jindrich, we have another bum in Martial Bella Oleme who had won one of his previous nine fights! Thats a joke fight Bellew!

When you look through Tonys record he has not really fought a single decent Light Heavyweight Boxer.

Sometimes fans on here forget what really goes on, and make their mind up about a fighter based on these press releases that in truth have never come out of the fighters mouth.

Have a good session.

You know what, Tony. All the best of luck in the world mate. I believe that when your team actually manage to get you more meaningful fights, in which you CAN gauge your own position, you will find you are a lot closer to these guys than you think.
