I haven't heard anything about Donavan "Razor" Ruddock in many years now. Last I heard he invented a trash compactor called The Smash, named after his famed left hook/uppercut hybrid. But that was a very long time ago and I haven't heard anything since. Anybody know what Ruddock is up to these days?:think

I'm surprised nobody on the classic forum knows. I figured that the general forum would hold no answers, but generally speaking, I can find at least one person on the classic forum who can answer my question. I'll ask again, does anybody know what Razor Ruddock is up to these days?

In the late 1990s Ruddock had filed for bankruptcy as a number of failed investments, including $1 million that he lost when his Fort Lauderdale nightclub "Razor's Palace" went under; had left him cash poor. A contract dispute ruined a close relationship with his brother and former manager, Delroy.[4]
In 2006 Ruddock invented a non-electrical garbage compacter called The Boxer which he hoped would become a success. Ruddock marketed the device he designed one day after becoming increasingly frustrated with the amount of waste his family was creating.[5] The Boxer was sold on his website, Razorruddock.com, however as of January 2010, the site is no longer up and running.
just pasted this off wikip( so i cheated) and you probably already new all this anyway

He used to have a yellow lambo, used to see him all the time back in the day. Just checked the property rolls. He still has his house in Coral SPrings, so I assume he is still down here.

I never saw him in the gyms, and I was around all of them down here, so maybe he had his own gym. I know he went broke and lost everything.

He sure is. Being a trainer is not as glamorous as it seems. Very few guys make it to the elite level and even the greatest trainers only come accross a handful if any great talents and often times are let down or disappointed as their work hardly ever fully pays off and it's a long long road. Becoming a great trainer in my estimation is similar to having the natural gifts of a good fighter. It takes a person who can see things that most cannot. It amazes me how many unqualified trainers are working with elite fighters. Look at Cottos trainer for example. That guy has absolutely no knowledge of boxing yet he was running the corner in one of the biggest fights recently Even his pad work was piss poor.
As far as books on Eddie Futch I don't know of any but he been interviewed quite a bit in various mags.
