Another fighter trying his hand at MMA. Flores is a good fighter too and undefeated. is this a new trend that we are gonna see more and more of?

Was Joe Rogan right in 2007 when he said all boxers would wind up going to MMA ? Mayorga, Flores, Toney already in a few months time have signed with MMA companies.

Yeah but none of those guys exactly represent the forefront of boxing (Toney due to age, Flores due to inactivity, and Mayorga due to both).

Well they arent exactly bums either. Flores in ranked in the top 10 for Cruiserweights, Mayorga is a 2 time Champion and has fought some of the best in the game several of which in high selling PPV fights, Toney is one of the greatest fighters of the last 20 years. These guys can make more money in boxing but is it a challenge in MMA they are looking for ?

Another boxer but not anyone of real note. Sure Mayorga is good but Botha and Philips were genuine fighters/champs and they fought in MMA.

It's still guys looking for paydays.

In fact, Flores is probably the first one who seems to be giving up a good chance in boxing.

It's a money grab by Flores, and I don't blame him. Being a relatively unknown cruiserweight with a cautious fighting style ain't exactly the road to fame and fortune.
