I was against the idea of McCline being Peter's opponent and I was very negative towards him. I just wanna say that I salute him tonight. He gave a tremendous performance and left it all in the ring. I kind of wished that he had gotten the decision because it hurts that much more when u come so close only to fall short. It was hard for me to watch him walk back to the dressing room with his wife. Sometimes I let my emotions get the better of me when it comes to boxers. Just give the guy props everyone cuz he deserves it.

McCline seems to be a bit stuck in this syndrome where he starts strong and gets an edge, but runs out of gas and ends up being outpointed- it's happened in three of his last four major fights, and may have happened in the other one had he not twisted his knee in the third.

He more than earned my respect tonight. Bittersweet moral victory for him to have gone 12 rounds (he was vulnerable the entire second half, as exhausted as he clearly was) since he really was on the razor's edge of pulling off the upset by stoppage in the early rounds.

A) The knockdowns by themselves weren't what earned him a lot of peoples' respect tonight
B) The 2nd round uppercut and the straight right responsible for the first of the 3rd round knockdowns were effective as much because of timing as raw power. Any six and a half foot tall guy who timed those shots would have put Peter down.

I can't stand all this drama lately. First it was Jermain Taylor on the verge of tears during the interview with Merchant, then it was McCrary giving everything he had against Bika and then the sadness afterward, and now McCline making that walk back to the dressing room without the belt. I need to find a new sport to watch. Just downright depressing. :?

Jermain just seemed shocked and humbled, not really on the verge of tears. McCrary's loss to Bika was pretty inevitable, I think even his supporters knew that, and he didn't seem much more bummed than most other eliminated Contender participants. McCline's walk seemed to be teeming with repressed outrage more than sadness or self-pity.
It's all good man. :good

Yeah I didn't think McCrary had a chance but the fact that he hurt Bika made it tug at the heart a little more you know?
