Tonight's fight and a quick look at the world rankings of heavyweights has convinced me that Wlad should absolutely be recognized as THE heavyweight champion. Can anyone even REMOTELY argue that he's the best of the division? Can you say it with a straight face?

Cmon, it's his era...if someone beats him, they're the new bully on the block--

well, that's what's so frusterating about wlad. he's clearly today's best heavyweight, but he hasn't done much to establish his legacy. however, politics have something to do with that (ibf mandatories, hbo's budget, and don king's interference).

don't forget, mccline did to peter exactly what peter did to wlad.

i think wlad peter will be a very close call

True. Wlad would TKO Peter in the pre-match.

You ain't the real champ until you have cleaned out the division. But cleaning out the division ain't easy these days when promoters and sanctioning bodies actively try to prevent it.

the belts need to get unified.

but don king don't wanna lose his control of one of his last remaining assets.

below heavyweight what has he got these days.

felix trinidad - more retired than active these days.

juan diaz - gaining a reputation fast but not at the superstar level yet.

luis collazo - yeah right.
