You'd have 5 pages of nothing but "OMG KLIT SUCKS" threads.

Peter looked like absolute shit. He went into the fight with his typical confidence and rage, and won a very tight decision that many feel he didn't even deserve. What does he have left? He lacks the speed and technical ability to beat any top 5 heavy by boxing, and with his undeserved confidence gone, he's fucked. Don't forget he's still never knocked out a top 10 heavyweight. If he tries to "outbox" Wlad, Vitali, Ibragimov, Chagaev, or Maskaev, he's getting knocked out. When there's an unintelligent fighter who thought he hit hard, then a feather-fisted body-builder like McCline ranked #42 by boxrec knocks him on his ass three times, what more does he have left? He couldn't even hurt McCline.

Peter may have technically won, but his confidence is shot. He better be glad he wasn't in there with Oleg. His ass would've gone through the ropes. Shit, he should be glad he wasn't in there with Ruiz. How many times does this guy have to be exposed before the American boxing media gets over him?

You act as though you don't see the numerous other threads about Peter not being good and being a fraud. You have simply added another.

Here's the thing; people talk like Peter is a good fighter and a serious contender.

People talk like Wlad is the most formidable HW in the history of fighting. So when Wlad faints or looks shit there are a shitload of people waiting to redress the original overstep.

Both points of view are BS. Wlad is a good champ. Peter is a good Contender. End of story until one proves otherwise or it is otherwise proven.

with all that said Peter is still one of the best in the division right now...

I disagree; unless, by "one of the best in the division" you mean top 20-50

Yes, but your thread is about how Wlad would have a bunch of redundant threads if he fought like Peter last night as though it would be something exclusive to Klitscho because he is hated here. Obviously this is not the case since there are alot of threads about Peter right now saying what you have already said.

The point is there would be exponentially more threads like this if it had been Wlad.

The point is that Wlad is built up to a far higher extent so there is more to tear down.

Not to mention many of those threads would be excuses for why Wladimir lost. Seriously, there were at least 5 threads about him being poisoned when he lost to Brewster.

If you don't think Peter is a top 20 guy you should be banned from posting forever. That is simply assinine.

Dude, whatever, I've been saying Peter is a total fraud for a LONG LONG time now. I just don't understand how so many people can possibly have him ranked #2 in the world.

Nope

It's amazing how many people here call professional, world-class prizefighters "jokes" and "frauds." If only some realized, or at least respected, how tough it is to get into the ring and fight.

Everybody said Wlad was done when he fell apart against Brewster, Roy Jones said during the HBO telecast that a guy with a weak chin and Heart would never become champ, 2 years later he became champ and was thought of as the best. Its easy to kick someone when there down, but give him a chance to get up and see what he could do.

That's true; however, there was always more to Wlad than chin and power.

So your saying Wlad has never been dropped a few times in a fight, then got up and won. Gee....thought he did.

I think kg hit it on the head. There are plenty of negative posts about him already (tho I feel getting dropped numerous times, getting up and clearly winning the fight shows alot.....)...looks like you just felt like adding another to the mess.

That's true; however, there was always more to Wlad than chin and power. Yeah but he wasnt all that until Manny got ahold of him, his balance sucked and he had a problem with not pacing himself, which caused alot of his stamina issues. Peter would improve with a better trainer, he already started showing better body work and a better jab.

Peter revealed that he broke his left hand during camp, but chose to fight on, so he deserves points for not pulling out. Both hands, he said, were hurting him during the fight.

You seriously think Scam Cheater broke his hand then passed the pre-fight physical with a broken hand then valiantly fought anyway. Man I wish I was a salesman wanting to sell you something.

Some good points however I still think Sam Peter was all hype.

Some good points however I still think Sam Peter was all hype.

He's still young, so we'll have to wait and see. I doubt he ever becomes a dominant/unified champion though. I will admit that I bought into the hype too much, but I don't think Peter himself was hype. He is what he is: a good fighter in a division with other good fighters.

In some ways, it's kind of unfair to these guys to have such massive hype placed upon them, because it just sets them up for failure in the public's mind and leaves their fans disappointed.
