Is there anything Marco couldn't do in the ring? He was one of the greatest fighters I've ever seen and I'll miss watching his fights a lot.

Next stop? Hall of Fame!

Barrera with the Rocawear. Even Jay-Z knew that MAB was the man by sponsoring him. :yep

Great fighter, Had at least 10 super fights in his career. Had a left hook shot so beautiful, even Kareem Abdul Jabbar would envy.

Not my favorite personality in boxing (i like Erik better) but as a fighter, I respect his skills and his legacy.

Good Luck on your retirement, Mr. Barrera.

Sad for him to go, but honestly he shouldve displayed some real Mexican fighting in there with Pac....Towards the end of the 12th period. Pac feinted 3 consecutive times. He didn't even have to throw a punch, and he had MAB backed to a corner ducking and covering up. This pretty much sums up the fight. 12th round u know u need a KO to win, and here we have the great Marco Antonio Barrera cowering in a corner. Kinda tragic really. Muy macho?? Marco got punked plain and simple and not getting knocked out isn't anything to gloat about.

cayate....dont talk that way about Barera noob. He has given so many classic fights, so many wars. He fought the fight that he thought would win him the fight, unlike a typical Mexican he is actually educated man. Just because he didnt go out on his ass like Morales, doesnt mean he isnt a real Mexican.:nono

Very cerebral fighter..he went into that ring against PAC with his plan for PAc to chase him and counter all night. PAC didnt chase...at that point..whats the point..make some money and go home

i recall mab saying that in his list of the top 5 best mexican fighters of all time, he ranked himself 5th behind erik who he ranked 4th. was this modesty or does he really think that erik was better than him?

He said this after beating Erik the 3rd fight. Now if I just won and all of a sudden I told a guy I hated that nah youre still better..thats false humility as its best..meant to further infuriate Erik

Man I just now noticed that. :good

This little man was a true ATG, possible top 50 all time fighter on my list. He could out box better, sometimes bigger brawlers(Naz, Juarez, Pac at times in the rematch even though well past his best) and out brawl better boxers (Morales, and it's no easy feat out brawling this man at his peak he would have gave Sal Sanchez everything he had).

I would have gave everything to see him and JMM fight in 2004. It would have been even better.

He truly gave Boxing fans plenty to cheer about .....Especially the Naseem figh at the height of his career ..I also remember the Jr Jones fights ,those fights alone are responsible for turning a few friends of mine into instant boxing fans as well as MAB fans ..

Yeh the truth hurts. Im not proud of Barrera's performance. He had an opportunity to enhance his legacy, instead he mailed it in. Even with Pac showboating and talunting him, he couldnt and wouldnt MAN UP.The outcome was never in doubt and it showed in Pac's body language. It showed in the scorecards...not just the judges, everyone of note who was scoring the fight. It showed in the post-fight interview when Barrera was gloating over his big accomplishment of not getting knocked out. Like that's any kind of accomplishment. You said he fought the best style to fight Pac, but come on....it was obvious that style wasnt working. At least give yourself a chance to win. Good bye Marco, have fun with your millions. All hail da great Barrera---(insert sarcasm here).

Legend.

His fight with Hamed is one of my most enjoyable fights to watch. He dominated him soooooo bad, and I don't mean in a boxing sense. He demoralised Hamed. GOLD!

MAB was a true champion that went through a number of phases in his career, where he had to adapt and change his style. He gave the boxing world HEAPS of really great top class fights and anyone who tries to discredit him is an idiot.

he's been my favourite on the world scene for a while now.

he's the feistiest fighter i've ever seen i think.

don't piss the man off otherwise he comes out of his shell with that mean face and pays ya ass. :yep

rd 5 of the 1st fight with morales kinda sums him all up i think. morales is laying it on him, marco is keeping it tight after taking a big volley and then he explodes. :bbb :yep

winning the hamed fight will always go down as his best win.

i personally think winning the 3rd fight with morales is the very best win of his career.

but the manner of the hamed win makes it his crowning win. :yep

One of the baddest men under 130 ..There is defienatly a void that will neeed to be filled ....

Luckily Pacquio is leading the charge followed by Marquez and maybe Guzman.
