I been a serious fan now for about two years and I've never grasped why people dislike him so much. I know people say he is bitter but so would I be if my best fighters left me as soon as they hit superstart status thanks to the fights that I provided them (hatton, joe cal, khan). From what I see he does the best he can for his fighters n makes them as much money as he can and delivers them good fights and let's face it without him british boxing would be worse off. What are peoples reasons for disliking him?

I don't mind him, but just read his Sun column every Saturday as to why some people hate him - plus all the WBU shite he brought into the sport a few years ago :good

People always mention that he builds the fighters and gets them fights like he does it out of charity. He earns a lot of money from them. You shouldn't feel sorry him when a fighter leaves him to go on his own after a long career with Frank. Frank has made plenty of money for them and from them.
It is a common misconception that they owe him something after they leave. Why do they owe him anything when they have been paying for his services all along?
He doesn't do himself any favours when he slaggs fighters off as soon as they leave him ala Hatton/Calzaghe.
He certainly is good for British boxing and I respect his achievements. But he pisses me off with his sue anybody that slaggs him off approach.

Eh were the British and the public don't like successful individuals,Well from personal experience the man's never been anything more than honest and concerned about his fighters with me ,maybe thats why hes one of the best promoters in the world today.

Sports Network owes Joe Calzaghe £1.8m
Does it look as though ****** is suffering for that?

The fact that I can't write even 10% of what I would like to on here is one of the reasons why he's hated by a lot of people.
One of the supposed leading men in the toughest sport in the world, he has the thinnest skin of anyone I've ever dealt with.
Also, SN - the company he ran - owes Calzaghe a justified, iron clad, high court ordered amount and what happened? It folded and off he goes again.

Thanks for your feedback guys yea I can see from his colum its a lot of veiled insults to the fighters he has issues with like haye and hatton but I'd rather read that then no boxing at all!

He slags off EVERY current british world champion right now.... aswell as slagging off all the other big stars there have been in this country in the last ten years or so, like Lewis, Hatton and Calzaghe just because they were not, or are not signed with him.
The WBU era wasn't cool either.

He is petty how he treats boxers ho have left him, but as far as how he runs his business is concerned, he'd just doing what most other people would in his position.

I just think he's an immature, pathetic little weasel - who acts like a big soft kid every time he doesn't get his own way.
He can stick his WBO/WBU titles up his arse.

The fact that you're asking for reasons why people dislike him, provoking comments such as 'he's a dick' :D will probably get some of us in trouble.
I'm used to it, the ginger fish eyed cunt can go swivel for all I care:good
But, this is ESB, how come ****** can't get abused here? :huh

Apparently ****** tried to get the site shut down a few years back so the Mods are very careful as to what is said about ******, can't really blame the Mods here.

Frank ****** has singly done more for boxing in this country in the last 30 years than anyone else. From the shows he promotes, through his efforts and financial investment in improving safety at ringside in the wake of the Watson and McClellan fights, the tens of theousands he donates to charity, to the many boxers who have had terrific careers on the back of his promotional skills. The one post worth looking at here is that of Billy Nelson, who has first hand experience and knows.
Yes, Frank has made money. But why not? He is the one who has to take the financial gambles.
Let's take this show coming up at Upton Park. There has never been a show there before. Kevin Mitchell tops the bill ... last time he fought there were 2.5k at Wembley. Before that he was on a Khan undercard. Sky, in a monopoly position, are driving fees to promoters down .. yet he still goes ahead. He is taking the gamble that he and his staff can drum up the publicity to make this show a success, and for that we should be grateful.
****** is a boxing man through and through. Ruthless when he has to be, but with many more positive attributes than many of his rivals.
Maloney has been quoted that he has never met a man so fearless in business.
Perhaps many of those who sling shit are more than a little jealous.

i think most have covered the reasons he's dislike.
another beef i have with him.
he rarely ever works with other domestic promoters to make fights.
remember the british light middle scene of the early 00's.
the fighters were spread out between different promoters and we never saw the fights.
all the time hennessy promotes john murray he won't make a mitchell fight. :bart
he's a bitter old man.
