both are unbeaten, kretshmann at 9-0 and kober is 10-0.......and both have scored only knockouts.
so who is better???
can both go anywhere, or are they just padded records with little substance??
And since they are both german, did they ever fight against eachothter in the ams??

According to my gut feeling neither Kretschman nor Koeber will make much noise at the big boys's division, but my gut feeling has been wrong on a number of occasions.
Koeber can bang, and his amateur experience will surely help him a lot.He fought good names at the amateurs.By the way he is member of that small crew which were able to shot down Povetkin's plane.Yep! He beat Povetkin at the amateurs! Truly impressive, isnt it!
Unfortunetly his chin isnt the best out there.More than once he found himself lying on the ring dust during his amateur career.
However,he may be able to beat some of the guys of the top 20 at the pros.I dont think that Kretschman will be able to beat any member of that little top 20 club.

kretschmann also has similar amateur accomplishments.
he holds a win over roberto camarelle and has met several amateur icons like odlanier solis, alexander alexeev, michael nunez and several others.
twice took home bronze medals in the world championships.
also won a second place in the junior world championships.
that is just about as impressive as kobers credentials.
and i think he also holds a win over kober!!
personally, i too think neither will make it all the way. kretschmann also had a rep for having a weak chin,.....just like kober.
he was also put away several times.
comparing these two, i think that kober is a bit more athletic, but kretschmann is bigger and appears stronger. plus he is a southpaw and has a serious left dig to the liver.
both should at least provide some fun...

I have seen Kober before. He's like a mini Wlad in there with that jab and textbook right. It is possible for Kober to be on Laun's Krasniqui's level. In other words a good, but not great heavyweight.
I have not seen video of Kretschmann yet, but he looks to have a real heavyweight build. Kretschmann's size, southpaw stance, and power mean he has a real shot to be somebody. Judging by his build, Kretschmann looks like he can take a punch. I was unaware of Kretschmann's amateur credentials. They are fairly impressive.

Thanks Lugui. Kretshmann has some things going for him. Big guy. Good defensive guard. Quick handed. Nice body attack. Needs to work on the right hook, and develop an uppercut / new methods of attack.

You´re welcome. With Kretschmann, it´s IMO the same with Köber, about both was said that they have at least questionable chins, and that would be a big problem, especially at HW, but both fighters have decent skills, the right size/weight, good power, etc., we need to watch them when they step up in competition...

Seems like Kretschmann might b similar to Alexander Dimitrenko, seems like Krestschmann inflicts more damage with his punches though.

I think Kretschmann has some power. Maybe a bit more than Dimitrenko. If Universum / Spotlight boxing is smart, they take their time developing Kretshmann. Kretshmann has some un- tapped potential in his game left to fill out. At least that's what I think after watching the fights Lugi posted.
Kober to me looks like more of a finished product with less room for improvement. I think Kober will be ready for a test vs a good journeyman that Chagaev, Dimitrenko, or Bidenko has already beaten by 2008.

Kretschmann is signed to arena Box-Promotion and will fight Corey "T-Rex" Sanders on October 19th.
Köber is with Spotlight. I think he is brought up too carefully - he should fight the likes of Sanders by now...I'm interested who will be his opponent for Oct. 20...

danke:good
looks like this oner is a smart guy!! right opponent at the right time.
that will add some momentum to kretsches career!!!
and playing on the "sanders ko´d maskaev once angle" is pretty smart and will gain him some credability.
now the pressure is on spotlight to find an opponent for kober of similar ability so that steffen does not surpass him in development.
interesting:hey

Kretschmann will pull ahead of David Rodriguez if he beats Sanders IMO.
A Kretschmann- David Rodriguez or Arreola could be an intriguing match.
Yes it is, but Povetkin got back on him at least once but I believe he even beated him twice. Maybe yoy can clear that up Odo?
He revenged his loss.I am positive.I am not really sure, but I think he even beat Koeber three times at the amateurs.

Interesting news,tom!
Corey Sanders,eh! Decent opponent for Kretschman at this point of his career!

I think you confuse Köber with Roberto Cammarelle, who faced Povetkin five times and lost every fight. Köber and Povetkin fought only twice, at the Chemiepokal 2001 (Köber won) and at the European Championships 2002 (Povetkin won).
