Showed great toughness not tapping. But he should have tried to be more positive standing up. Every one knew (including himself) that he would end up on his back. I just don't understand why he didn't try and push forward when on his feet. Surely it's better to get took down all guns blazing rather than just standing there waiting for the inevitable to happen any way?The only chance he had if he were to catch him with a decent shot. Just a shame he didn't look for it at all. The slight chance he had, he let it pass him by.

Yea he showed GSP a ton of respect on his feet, something he said he wouldn't do like everyone else who fought GSP did. Funny how things change once you're in the ring realizing who's in front of you.

He showed him too much respect. This was his big chance. And he never went for it at all. I doubt he'll get another chance.

I wonder how Hardy's arms feel today. They must be killing

Hardy has made a fan of me. That guy nearly had both his arms torn off. A true warrior.

yeah everyone is saying people are afraid of GSP's takedown and they don't let their fist go....yet when they are in face of him in the octogone, that shit is thrown out the window.
GSP's takedown are just too good. Best takedown artist of MMA

GSP is probably the best all round grappler in MMA.

Why didn't he press forward?

Well, the answer is fairly esoteric, but not really...

If you're pressing forward, even semi-aggressively, it creates forward momentum, and that makes you more apt to get taken down via ankle snaps/single/doubles.

He tried his best, he just lacks talent.

Doesn't take a warrior to lie on your back and almost get your arms ripped off. I could do that too. lol He could have at least shown something offensive

I think he tried. Everytime he stood up he got taken down. On the ground he was busy defending himself. He did try to be offensive when in guard and safe moments but other than that GSP was always 1 second from locking a sub. It's not smart to get ballsy when someone could choke you.

It does take a warrior to not when his arm is about to get ripped off.

Did you notice that GSP had Hardy's back numerous times but never went after the choke? I thought that was strange

Nothing really that Hardy could have done different.

He's just on a far inferior level to GSP.

Yea, he looked like he was going to set it up but never followed through. He had tons of opportunities it seemed to sink one in but he didn't. Maybe I'm wrong but a fighter of his talent should have been able to get those chokes in anytime he wanted when he had Hardy's back

Just won £50 on this fight with my mate.

GSP is on a whole different level thaan anyother 170lb fighter currently, only Jake Shields will give him a fight imo, and that is debatable.

I think the knowledgeable MMA fan new that Hardy never really had any chance.

If I have 50 quid in my pocket, it goes on watching Hardy fight...not GSP.

It's very hard to lock in the RNC, especially in MMA where those gloves make it near impossible to sneak under the chin, this is probably why he was giving up his back to avoid the GNP.

GSP owned Hardy in every facet of that fight including in the stand up where Hardy was outclassed by GSP's striking. Hardy's a tough dude though, lesser men would have tapped to that armbar, GSP couldn't get the leverage he needed to finish the kimura though.

Not that easy, He had Hardy's back, but what happens when you take a guys back on the ground, and they escape? They end up in dominant position, possibly in side mount.

It's true though, GSP had many opportunities to commit to the choke but didn't

Hardy did nothing absolutely nothing and GSP carried him. Hardy should be ashamed of himself because he done fuck all.
