Tua was happy playing house husband in south auckland until David Higgins came knocking on the door and put up a million dollar purse split 50/50 to fight cameron. His career was over until that happened. Now he has a second bite of the cherry.
Why stick with Cedric Kushner who has never got him a decent fight?? I think the layman of the street could do a better job than Kushner. Duco events have delivered a polished promotion and it looks like they will do the same again with the Friday fight. With Cedric out of the picture and Maori TV told to pull their head in boxing in New Zealand could be put on the map.
We have one of the most exciting, and biggest punchers in the game on his come back trail. There is no reason fights against top ten opponents and even world title fights couldn't be promoted here. I'm pretty sure any numpty has a half chance of getting an international TV deal if Tua was taking on the tops guys. Cedric is not capable of pulling it off.
Why not give Duco events free reign to go for it? Otherwise Tua can go back to hanging the washing on the line while his wife is out working and the kids are at school.

would probably be one of our best chances to get big fights down this way,ala danny green vs rjj, boxing in the state it is should be trying to reach all sides of the world with big fights and lay more foundations and strongholds for young fans.

Friday absolutely loves New Zealand, don't be surprised if he fights back there again when he wins come Wednesday... The Boxing people are great.. really appreciate thier boxing... If he ever did get a massive fight and the chance he would land the fight once more over there.... He has never been more relaxed......

Not sure, but I'm certain that Tua will get a title shot if he wins 2 more fights(assuming he gets past Friday) in the next year or so.

Mr Higgins AND CK are promoting this fight. Mr Higgins is NZ based, and would probably struggle to promote Tua outside Australasia. CK can. That's the difference. I think they make a great team.
Good to hear that Friday is relaxed. Seems very relaxed to me, and was treated well at the weigh in. People here like him. But man, he's got to take his cap off. Does he have hair underneath? Will he wear a cap tonite in the ring?

Do you honestly believe that NZ is a big enough market to host a genuine World Heavyweight Title fight!?! Or even a genuine top ten match up!?!

USA is where da money is...and you cannot over stress the importance of the right contacts there, something that Ced has and Higgins hasnt, although we're waiting anxiously for the promised big name opponents from CK.

They have already hosted the biggest heavyweight purse in the region with just two local boys.It is slim pickings but its a start. The right campain could only reep good rewards for not only NZ but AUS.I think it would have to include a local fighter to work.
