Could be a hard fight.

But I think Pavlik would end up beating Jeff in the late rounds.
But all could happen - to be honost. Jeff i very strong.

This one could go either way. Stylewise, Pavlik has the advantage - especially considering reach and height.

But Pavlik could get ktfo in this one.

It would help if you wrote at which weight they would fight.;)

Lacy got a terrible injury. Even without I would probably say Kelly. Lacy is not too smart of a fighter. Strong as an Ox, but not too bright.

At 168 Kelly bombs out Lacy easily. People don't realize that Kelly is even more of a power puncher at 168. Lacy is obviously a mediocre fighter of limited skills, an over rated puncher lacking in boxing IQ.

Lacy could barely handle Vitali Tsypko in his last fight.

A good work out for Kelly, nothing more.

Pavlik by KO in 5.

How do you know Kelly is more of a power puncher at 168?

If Lacy is fit and the injury has not ruined him, he wins by KO. He tore his rotary cuff in the second round of the Tyspko fight, so I dont look at that.
He is one dimensional but he has a great chin and very good power. Pavlik has very good power but a very average chin. Both are flat footed and both like to slug it out.

When you get two come forward fighters both with power and no real difference in hand speed, the better chin is all important. Lacy has the better chin and if anything an edge in hand speed too.

Yeah, you try fighting 10 rounds with a torn rotary cuff.:good

Lacy before Calzaghe would have probally KO'd Pavlik, but now I dunno it depends how good Jeff can be if he stays injury free.

i'm not sure how effective pavlik can be at 168, but i still give him the (slight) edge here

Pavlik by KO in a very one-sided fight.

Amazing he only gets a "slight" edge after KO'ing hype machine Miranda and "elite" MW champion Jermain Taylor, who, as I'm told, fought the toughest MW's available in Hopkins, Wright, Spinks, and Ouma

whereas Lacy got destroyed the second he stepped up (and probably should have lost to Tsypko).

Seriously, Pavlik KO.

Lacy is most likely done.

yeah pavlik by late ko.

while kelly can be hit, he is no where near as open as lacy. not to mention size. pavlik will dwarf lacy, and use his long and very powerful jab to make lacy think twice about throwing bombs.

after the win over taylor some people STILL consider pavlik a one dimensional puncher. :patsch

pavlik was throwing a variety of punches but mainly settled for the 1-2 combo throughout that fight. partially because of taylors faster hands, and part getting knocked down hard.

if pavlik was that one dimensional he would have been shutout by taylor. whereas in fact on my scorecard it was pavlik leading. if you have a great jab that also helps. jeff lacy doesn't really have a jab. it's more a stiff pole shot to get into position for a bomb.

pavlik's body is a large frame, with huge fists. he will adopt the 158 pound division nicely, and his power will increase because he has tons of stamina and the longness to put on the muscle correctly.

jeff lacy i always thought was a blown up middleweight. he claims it's natural and he doesn't pump weights, but i doubt that. if lacy stripped some muscle he could make the middleweight divison easily.

i see pavlik doing his thing and having a battle in the first round before he slowly but surely makes lacy give ground, round by round.

finally the accumilation will add up and lacy will be ko'ed.

in fact i think a fighter to give pavlik problems would be one with a average chin. why? because they are very aware of their weakness and will try to avoid his powershots all night. guys with solid chins, such as miranda, taylor, lacy, will take bombs to get in a shot on pavlik only to have their chins chipped away round after round.

Lacy has been really inactive overcoming an injury. My pic would be Pavlik.
