In each weight class, old or new.
Presume this is an international wordwide competition.
Who do you have at the weight that will bring home a win ?
Call it your Pro select.
Who do you nominate from your country to hold it down, old or new, young or old in there selected weight division ?

fuck, this is tough for me...
Heavyweight-Sam Langford
Super Middle-Eric Lucas
Welterweight-Mysterious Billy Smith or Jimmy McLarnin (if I'm allowed to steal him from Ireland)
Junior Lightweight-Arturo Gatti
Featherweight-George Dixon
That's all i got for now. Essentially, the only shot we have is at heavyweight. O CANADA!!!

i had trouble placing langford...though he likely does have a better shot at middleweight than heavy. still, if we can place him at 168 he could dominate!

Get stuffed! He was raised in NZ since the age of 9! He even developed his famed blacksmith physique there and had his first few professional fights there.
His father was an Irishman from county Armagh in any case.
His formative influences were from NZ and once he became an established professional he fought out of USA not Britain.
He is at least as much a NZer as English , fact !

Yeah, I don't think anyone here is a pushover, to say the least. Coulon reigned for 4 years at bantamweight; Belanger's reign at fly was short, but he's got a victory over Frankie Genero, and Gatti was...Gatti...so at the very least he's going to make his fights exciting.
Edit: And can't forget about Brouillaird, either. Anyone who can beat Mickey Walker and McLarnin is a legit force to deal with.

Great all Aussie list (well sort of) mate but if I may be so bold as to suggest a couple of changes
-Troy Waters out and Rocky Mattioli or Charkey Ramon in at Jnr Middleweight
-Kostya Tszyu out and Jack Carroll in at Welter (Tszyu never fought at 147 to my knowledge)
-Hector Thompson out and Kostya Tszyu in at Jnr Welter (Tszyu has to be there, sorry Hector)
-Ambrose Palmer in and Jeff Harding out at Lt Heavyweight (I've a feeling that Ambrose in his prime would've given the Hitman a lesson)
Still a top list of fighters and the changes I'd make are just my personal opinion.

Actually, i like those changes you have made.
There are certainly a few options to help the team along, depending on circumstances. One possibility is Dave Sands to come into the side and for Fitzy, Sands and Darcy to rotate between middleweight, supermiddle and light heavy. That might be as awesome a combination as any nation can put in the ring.
There are plenty of other fighters who are also capable of stepping in and doing a job in certain circumstances also. Jimmy Carruthers is a real standout, who could probably be slotted in there, and maybe should be.

Good call about Carruthers.
Australia has been very well served by some awesome middleweights (adding Tony Mundine into the mix).
Actually Fitz,Darcy and Sands could all do the business all the way up to Heavyweight as well although Jackson deserves his spot at there.
Barry Michael and Lester Ellis must warrant consideration for Jnr Lightweight also.

Could you really rate Carruthers above Rose at Bantamweight though ?
Carruthers was super impressive in his title win and defense against Toweel but his resume is thin in comparison to Rose's and doesn't feature anyone approaching Harada's status so the answer is no.
Lionel is the best Bantamweight representative for Australia imo.

Well as a childhood immigrant myself I can attest that Fitz being raised in NZ from age 9 to adulthood would certainly have played a major part making him the man he was.
Bear in mind his famed blacksmith physique was first developed there along with his early professional fights. He fought in Australia for 5 years to get himself up the professional ladder and thereafter spend most of his time in USA as far as I know.
I really dont think England has a very strong claim at all, his father was Irish and he left England at a very early age. We are happy to share but the received wisdom that he is British through and through is patently false and only established by greater force of media than poor old NZ.
