WBO cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli (27-1, 20 KOs) has responded to last week's public challenge of KO artist Darnell "Ding-a-Ling Man" Wilson (22-5, 19 KOs). In a sharply worded story in the South Wales Evening Post that begins "WBO cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli has responded to loudmouth Darnell Wilson's criticism by labelling the American one dimensional and one-paced." Maccarinelli goes on to question Wilson's worth as a challenger and points out his five career losses. "Who the hell has he ever beaten?" asked annoyed Wilson co-promoter Dino Duva. "Outside of a decision over Wayne Braithwaite, his opponent list is like a graveyard. The "Ding-a-Ling Man" is one of the top challengers in the world. He's fought and beaten many of the world's best 200-lb fighters and always in spectacular fashion. Maccarinelli has a lot of proving left to do before he can start talking about who is worthy of facing him. Darnell Wilson would be going into this fight as one of the hottest fighters in the entire sport. If Maccarinelli thinks he deserves to be called champion, he should agree to face Darnell immediately and stop posturing in his local paper." Duva says he's yet to hear from Maccarinelli's people. "He (Maccarinelli) has said in the past that he's looking to fight the best," continued Duva. "Well, the Ding-a-Ling Man is calling him out right now. Is he going to act like a champion or continue the silly talk while avoiding him?"

enzo can talk all the shit he wants but if he gets in the ring with darnell he is getting decapitated.

Well tell that china chinned joke to get in the ring and get starched properly by Ding. Who's the one who is not willing to sign? It sure isn't Ding, he would take this in the UK by all means, as it is an assured KO victory over a ranked, albeit overrated, contender.

I find it funny Amsterdam that you criticize Enzo's career management and promoter but go to great lengths in defending Calzaghe, who has the same promoter and was maneuvered exactly the same way. Let's not be too hypocritical here, the truth is always somewhere in the middle.

Now Enzo really stepped up in his last fight with a great result, and I see no reason why he wouldn't perform similarly against Ding. Just because ****** sees to much of a risk in facing Darnell does not mean Enzo himself is intimidated in the slightest.

Well, Enzo is the one being called out from every corner, wasn't quite the case with Calzaghe and Enzo has yet to even solidify anything at all, there is the difference you Calzaghe hating maniac.:yep

Second, Big Truck does not pressure in the same way Ding does and Enzo is very vulnerable to pressure, specifically with how Ding can time big hooks, he will remove Enzo's head.

Third, Enzo is china chinned, I tend to dislike over hyped china chinned fighters, if you haven't noticed.

Fourth, never claimed Enzo was ducking Ding, simply said, 'well, if you want to talk NOW, get in the fuckin' ring with him then'. Simple enough.

That's true. Don't blame Enzo. He'll just do whatever ****** tells him as despite ****** being a class A tosser, he makes Enzo good money

Enzo's right and would box Ding's head off.

Enzo has enough power to hurt Dings Iron chin as well.

Past his prime Braithewaite Is better than the past their primes Dale Brown and Kelvin Davis.

He was walking Into Nwodo like a caveman and lucky he had him outta there. Was a sweet Ko though.

Enzo looked like a cruiser Lennox Lewis In his last fight.

Dont get it twisted guys, Enzo has been protected quite well and worked his way up slowly but this guy has world class power. His chin might be a little shaky once hit on the button but the end of the day any guy hit on the button by a 200lb guy is going to sleep. Enzo isnt my cup of tea at all but Ding vs Enzo is an even money bout with the edge going to Enzo as his jab and overall boxing skills ARE better than Dings. Ding has a good chin and can bang but he head hunts too much and isnt that intelligient in the ring.If his going to beat Enzo his gotto negate his jab with some deft head movement and get on the inside and bang that huge target body and head. But knowing Ding he doesnt mind giving one to take one and could be on the end of a late TKO.
