Maia via pulling half guard from a stuffed TD. Rolling into a kneebar to hell hook.
Or Anderson via TKO round 1...:-(

I hate to predict a Hughes win over Renzo - but I don't think Renzo will be able to match Matt physically. His conditioning hasn't been great in recent years and he has been inactive for too long.

I think the Silva/Maia fight was a major mistake. I predict that Maia will fight a cautious fight and Silva won't be able to take him out. Of course if Maia can put Silva on his back - he could very well win.

I'm worried that it could be boring as well. Hopefully Maia comes out like he did against Marquardt and gets sparked. In fact that's what I've based my prediction on. I think Maia could stay standing for a bit too long at the beginning.

I think he learned that against a lesser striker in Marquartd, that he cant do this again

Yeah that's the worry I suppose. That and he has been saying that he will be looking to take this to the ground. But one thing you can't say about Maia is that he doesn't engage. Either through takedowns or striking, he is looking to win the fight. Hopefully he continues that.

I did not see the fight, so I don't know how it went down. I picked Penn to win his bout, and meant it. I'm not trying to claim I got this one right.
I had a discussion with a friend of mine recently, and think I posted something similar in another thread, about whether or not Edgar had a chance. I said his hand speed gives him a chance because he can use it along with side to side movement to keep Penn out of rhythm. I said that if he could be successful standing, he could win a decision because his wrestling background would help him keep Penn from taking him down.
I thought that Penn's jab was too good for Edgar to pull off the above strategy, and I've also heard Edgar had success taking Penn down. I did not see a man argued to light for 155 being able to take Penn down.
For those of you who watched the fight, did any part of my keys to an Edgar victory come into play? What did happen?
