Jones was very very green at 154 for that short period of time. However, PBF loses speed and power everytime he moves up. His speed decline isn't as bad because the fighters higher up are slower than he is.....not so with Jones, who at 154 was probably as fast as 140 Mayweather, and not P4P, but straight up.

I would go with Jones, but I don't expect a KO because PBF is smart and in 2007 smack in the middle of his prime.

Very stupid thread, the size difference was astronomical, even with both at 154. Floyd walks around at 148 between fights, Jones was boiling down from 170.

I think DLH was coming down from that far as well.

Do you think Jones being exceptionally green would come into play as far as stopping PBF.

Jones still had a very good amature background, he shouldve won the gold metal.

He had more than enough experience and an awkward style to get to PBF.

The strength and punching power advantage to Jones is HUGE.
Also, Jones would be FASTER than PBF at 154, and I dont mean p4p. PBF isnt as fast as he used to be at the lower weights.

PBF cant really hurt Jones, but Jones could sure as hell starch him with one of those fast KO shots that come from awkward angles.

I think it would, PBF at 154 would be very cagey relative to a green Roy, and Roy was not always one to take chances. But he had great power at 154/160 and if he didn't get the stoppage he'd win a wide UD by keeping Floyd on the defensive all night.

I agree but only to the fact the RJJ is way to strong for Floyd at Jr middle weight , in-fact I still think Terry Norris is too strong fast and quick for floyd . so in all honesty Rjj is out of the question as fantasy opponent for floyd.

The only time Jones had real trouble is when he got taken to the ropes.

This happened in the first Tarver fight as well as far back as the Hopkins fight. The rounds Jones lost to Hopkins are the ones he spent on the ropes.

PBF would not be able to back Jones into the ropes.

I see Roy Jones faking a right and causing Floyd to lean to his left to shoulder roll, then Rjj Launching one of his monstrous flying left hooks and decapitating Floyd.

1991 roy jones i say wouldn't destroy a prime floyd mayweather,

91 wasn't roy jones prime i'd say 96-97. even if he had to drop weight would be a better fight.

Floyd is the best period right now.

RJJ of course, he is to big for floyd and neutralizes floyds strengths.

I don't think Floyd gets stopped by the green Jones, but he'd be very lucky to win more than a couple rounds.

Given that Jones is the much bigger man, the fact that he is faster than Floyd makes this a no contest. An old, inactive and far smaller (than Jones) fighter in De La Hoya was able to impose his size enough to win four rounds.

Mayweather would have virtually no offensive options in this contest. He'd simply decide whether to run to a decision loss or try to fight and get stopped.
