well I have my first amature fight May 8th. I've been training for about a year. Never really ran till about 2 months ago. I usually do interval training. Sprints. I also do long distance running 4 times a week. 3 times a week I do my sprints. I'm almost at the weight ima be fighting at. I'm going in at 178. I'm @ 189 right now. (Its a smoker bout so I guess I don't really have 2 be at a specific weight)
I just wanted 2 ask what do you guys think about that weight? Like what should I expect? What kind of fighters are at that weight?? And if you have some extra work out tips or suggestions please help me out, I know there's a lot of guys on here with good knowledge about amature boxing so I'm all ears to your opinion. Ill post the fight after. Also, does anyone know the purpose of hitting a big tire with a sledge hammer is? I do it but I really don't know what its for...lol
Thanx I appreciate it.
Oh, and what do u guys think about glove size? I hit the bag and spare with 18 oz cleto training gloves. I do my mitt work, double end bag and reflex bag with 12oz everlast gloves. Is that ok? Or should I switch it around.
