Paradoxically, this is the one thing I hate about boxing. All the ladies drop out after the beginners' class :(

And burpees are the fucking shit. There's no way around them if you want to get anywhere in life. Abe Lincoln used to knock them down in sets of like 200.

Just did 40 with a push up on the bottom. Tiring but I'm not real sure what to do with them though...

Strange exercise. Mountain climbers seem worse than this.

A real burpee always includes the pushup. A lot of people want to drop down from the standing position straight into a pushup position--kinda flopping down. That's wrong. You go from standing, to squatting, to pushup position, pushup, back to squatting position, jump.

If you can do 100 of them in like 5-6 minutes, you're in awesome shape. They're also great for adding into bagwork and shadowboxing, or during rest periods.

Yeah thats what I was doing, but fair enough I thought the pushup showed initiative. :oops:

I'll try 100 later on, sounds like a challange.

If you can do 100 of them in like 5-6 minutes, you're in awesome shape.

I usually mix ~30 burpees with 5 other exercises, like mountain climbers (aka slow death), with a minute to breathe before restarting the cycle. 100 is a lot! :blood But, I'll give it a shot just for the heck of it.

We used to do these all the time for basketball. The only difference is at the top we would imitate a jump shot instead of throwing the arms straight overhead. I still do that by habit if I perform this exercise.

Normally I would just think think that but if they were real, and considering how toned she is, I suppose there would be less fat on it therefore less movement...?

Just did 100 as close to your description as possible :yep. It was very demanding. Got to 50 in about 2 and half minutes then burnt myself out not long after.

Just did 100. That wasnt a fun exercise.

I tried the burpee as described but can't guarantee 'public worthy' form after about 50. :rofl:happy:happy:happyFuck yeah! Congrats!

How often would an athlete do an exercise like that? It's pretty much guaranteed to get you in great condition (with strict form ofcourse).

I would take into consideration what your daily schedule and nutritional intake is. What is the end goal? One must also take into consideration "body feel" as forcing the 100 burpees can demotivate you for the next burpee workout.

True, theyre good questions. My only concern would be nutritional intake but then again I'm used to functioning with low energy levels because I don't eat a lot. (lots of fluids and anti oxidants though)

As regards to body feel, I am already looking to improve! I complete maybe 100-150 min pushups once every 2 days average while doing a lot of medium distance running. Thanks for your useful advice.
