View Full Version : McCline exposed Peters egg chin, who will shatter it?

powder puff McCline sucks and had him doing dances, down 3 times. The light hitting Wladimir had him shook up and little guy Toney had him stunned. Peters goes on about how he KD Toney but that was a jab on an off-balance Toney, then he suffers heavy KD's against McCline. It's only a matter of time before someone shatters Peters egg chin, I reckon Rahman or Maskaev would do it...and Tua would wipe him out early.

Yes, it appears Sammy Pete is not all that he is cracked up to be. Time will tell.

I wonder in what category Toney's power is at heavyweight, if Peter's chin is such an egg, then why didn't Toney even dent it with everything he had coming for Peter? Maskaev, Ibragimov, Chagaev, Valuev and Wladimir would give Peter major problems.

Yes, what did I say in your lounge thread like a few weeks ago?
Golota would outjab Peter badly.. you had a hard time believing it for yourself, but now do you believe me?
I never predicted Golota as the winner in his title fights.
But I seriously believe that he's got a good shot in this one, if he works on his jab.

This is such a stupid thread I can't believe it. "Light hitting" Henry Cooper dropped Cassius Clay, so I guess in retrospect he had an egg chin as well. Yep, we'd better ignore all the other fights he had with hard punchers and never went down and label him as having a weak chin. Dumb.

I agree. And where's his biggest supporter, ZAKMAN???
I like the professor & he makes very good predictions in fights, but his allegience to Peter baffles me.

I know. He hasn't said shit about Peter even since McCline rocked his ass good, proving that not only can Peter not box, but his chin just doesn't fit well on that tree trunk of a neck he has.

Peter should avenge his Amatuer defeat to Audley Harrison and the fight should be billed as chin checkers.

McCline put the punches on Peter. Peter thought McCline was going to be backing up all night long, boy was he wrong. Besides Peter makes too many damn excuses! He slipped 3 times and both of his hands were broken, remember.

Calling a guy who gets knockouts in virtually every fight light hitting then a guy who weighs 230+ pounds little shows what kind of character you have.

Strongly disagree, I believe this is the best thing that could have happened to Peter if he is to face the heavier hitters and best technicians in the Game. Unforeseen circumstances happen in every walk of life, Samuel just came across one as a prized fighter - being caught on the fast transitions by counter shots - what comes out of it? He was able to shake it off and use boxing/fighting skills to survive... I don't think Toney, Tua have the physical requirements to get Peter in that kind of situation but in case they would, I frankly believe Samuel would trigger the so-called survival apprenticeship so freshly alive in his short memory to get him through.

This thread is utterly ridiculous.
First the chin/knockout obsessed grossly overrate Peter and now they run like lemmings when he shows he's not invincible.
If you dared to suggest prior to the McCline fight that there was a punch out there that even Peter couldn't stand up to you'd get lambasted. And if you dared to defend a fighter who had tasted the canvas as not having a china chin the chin obsessed go crazy.
Peter is not chinny, doesn't have the power of Thor in his fists but still packs a wallop, is still probably the second best heavyweight in the world, despite all the pundits claims is not a vastly improved fighter, he's a little better, McCline isn't a powder puncher but still has terrible stamina problems, and Golota wouldn't stand a chance against Peter.

Here we go, Peter doesn't have an egg chin. He simply got hit with some clean shots. I believe Peter underestimated McCline. He was expose to uppercuts :yep

I thought Mccline was totally shot, he barely beat Rob Calloway ( who wasnt KD once, lol), lost to Zuri Lawrance , he lost to Valuev in 3 rounds by injury, all recently.
Mccline really looked poor against Calloway, it was an even fight, honestly!

Maybe because Toney is a middleweight who fights at Heavyweight Einstein.Peter is a joke and was a joke and i have been saying this for a while. His power is pathetic....how many world class fighters has he knocked out in his career?Jeremy "Half boy Half glass chin" Williams? How many people think a fat old slow middleweight like Toney would last the distance with lets say a prime Tyson? But most people felt Toney won their first bout.
When ever Peter steps up again and fights a guy with a decent chin and some power and is agressive he will be knocked out.
If you knew better, you would have known I was responding to this James Toney lover in a sarcastic way................... nevermind you.

Peter is a B level fighter but his chin is grade A... He was eating Wlad's punches like a coconut, what a crude dumbass.
His chin is good but his defense sucks. Everything about him is just really poor.
Excellent example, short to the point and conclusive, Black. He has a sturdy chin and that was already proven against Wlad (also the lacklustre defence btw, I wouldn't call him names though besides crude)... Just to add that you go down when you're not prepared to take the shot, he took them all night long from Wlad but relaxed in the 12th and almost crumbled, same thang in the 2nd round counter uppercut against Jameel and visibly still staggered in the 3rd ...

Vlad was not putting power in his punches against Peter, at least not near as much power as usually. Vlad was boxing like it was an amatuer fight, score points, move, and hold. Vlad bought into the hype of Peter having indestructable chin, and boxed. When really Vlad could of hurt Peter badly if he would of sat down on his punches. The Brewster fight was still on Vlads his mind , he hit Brewster with absolutely everything he had, and Brewster wouldnt go down. Vlad didnt want that to happen again!
Now Brewster is a fighter that took the full onslaught of Vlads power. All Vlad wanted to do was box , move and hold against Peter.

Very much true but Wlad boxed superbly well and on very light feet, feinting and coming over the top, not just jabbing away. I also wouldn't fight Peter discharging fully on him and staying, nobody is going to do that. Yes, Wlad came from the Brewsta fight and another unlucky comeback on Showtime vs Davarryl Williamson ( nasty cut on forehead from clash of heads, previously knock-down flush/outa balance and a 5th rd technical split decision)... The only bad sign for me in this post geppy is that you know boxing and that's bad news for me Sat nite ;) , baby...

There's a lot of nonsense going around about "china chins", "egg chins", "glass chins". In professional boxing you will get knocked down sometimes. Especially in the heavyweight division where some of the fighters weigh over 260 pounds. Fighters are not superhuman, they can have off nights, lapses in defence, and get caught with punches they don't see. All that matters is how you respond when you are down and improving from your mistakes.

exactly.
Mcline is 6'6" and 260 lbs. . . he scored KD's of Brock and Byrd . . .Wlad hit Peter with some solid shots and hurt him but could not finish him either . . . Peter mey not have Librado Andrade's chin but it aint weak either.

Guys, guys - I responded in that other thread, but let me say again that I was on here THE NIGHT OF THE FIGHT saying that his getting KDd and nearly stopped by McCline raises serious questions about his chin.
However, somewhat like Miguel Cotto, we won't know for sure until he has a few more fights at the top level. This is always the case with these guys who go down, but get up to win fights. Is it because they have shaky chins, and don't really take a good punch - or is it because they have ordinary chins, but superior recuperative powers that enable them to overcome their less-than-granite beards?
The jury's still out on Peter.
I THINK TUA WOULD KNOCK PETER OUT....... WITHIN 4RDS.:smoke:smoke:smoke:smoke

A post like this is a welcome sight in this group of giddy kids who get carried away with this childish nonsense about china chins, being exposed, frauds, etc. . :-(
Great post. Dead on correct.:good
