Here's the best way to start your boxing training:
1) Go to a boxing gym.
2) Find the most experienced boxer there with a weight/height advantage over you.
3) Start trash talking and calling his mom names.
4) And then challenge him to a sparring session.
I can guarantee you'll get the best boxing lesson ever in your life.

Darn it! Oh well.
To the OP, have fun with it.
I help a lot of new guys in my gym with focus pads and sparring drills. It helps them and I find that it helps me too. For me, it reinforces lessons I've learned and it's great to see them improve over the weeks and months.
