Legitimate top 10 or top 5 fighters with semi-legitimate titles on the line, for free on primetime. Didn't boxing used to do this? UFC, HBO, SHO, don't do this kind of programming. In the fight for viewers between combat sports promotions, free fight cards are like body shots, money in the bank. Tonights CBS fight takes it to the next level, better than ufc fight nights, espn boxing, top ranks boxing. HBO and SHO non-ppv bouts are about equal, but they're not free. If strikeforce / CBS continue to do this, they will have much better chances to rival the UFC eventually. Tonight Strikeforce shows its for real
yeah they had top ranked fighters in the world and had some good fights but nothing spectacular,im sure its going to be overlooked by the brawl at the end
publicity stunt?
yay or nay it brings more attention to SF on CBS. good or bad is good

It is a risk reward game. All based around the amount of money your getting paided.

Shields and Melendez are arguably top 3, maybe 2 in their division now. Same for King Mo, he has thrown himself into the top 5. It's his 7th fight.

I didn't see all of it but from what I heard it wasn't that great of an event.

Dave Meltzer reports — “The overnight ratings for last night’s Strikeforce saw the 9-11 regular airing of Strikeforce do a 1.0 rating in adults 18-49 and 2.63 million viewers. Completely bombed.”
Strikeforce is doomed
