WOW.
I partially see where he is coming from. It is either Fedor or avenge losses. By this stage and age I don't blame him for not wanting to waste time just fighting. Most only think the chuck loss affects his career.

Fuck. Now What? The UFC really fucked this all up. They went from acquiring and having a shitload of stars at Heavy to this.
Crocop? Done.
Couture? Done.
Fedor? Never even got him.
Nog? Looked like shit
Sylvia? Everyone already hated him
Gonzaga? Exposed
Vera and Arlovski better start picking it up.

Since Randy is now officially either retired or a Free Agent, he could possibly go sign with this same stupid shit Fedor did and we can get the fight.

That's what I was thinking. I guess it would bring them some quick popularity as well....
However, I wouldn't doubt that the UFC has some sort of "fine print" that may prevent that from happeniing.

Why is it thefightnetwork again? I'll believe it when it's official.

Check out Randy's comments on another mma site.. HE not only quit but he is pissed off at the UFC and the management. Saying such things as Dana and other "bold faced lied to me"
Watch...just watch...another promotion (or 2) is nipping at UFCs heels before long. And don't be surprised if Randy surfaces with someone else and many many fighters follow.
The toughtalking Dana may have gotten a bit too arrogant for his own good.

Ok, now I believe it more. Well, Dana being as certain as he is fucked up.
Did anyone get confirmation on who bought M1? Someone was saying it was possibly Cuban (I haven't followed the stories today). If that's the case, and they do sign Couture when his contract expires in 9 months, they could get the heavyweight super fight that would put them on the map.
I'm quite shocked by this news, but I like to see Dana White humbled.

I think you are probably thinking along the right lines. Might not be Cuban but I think Dana is about to be dealt a crushing blow.
Never underestimate the Russians .... thats a fact.

Yeah, I heard the Cuban rumor yesterday, but it was just a rumor. He was talking to Fedor, though, and it was said that M1 was bought by a "North American" buyer. Of course, there could have been evidence presented today that put that rumor to rest. The only thing I read today was that Couture quit UFC, and I came straight here to chat!
Also I don't want the UFC to crumble, since I enjoy watching it. But I would love to see some tight competition again and see Dana White put his own foot in his mouth. Hopefully this is one little step on the way toward a healthy, competitive MMA world. MMA was at it's best when both the UFC and Pride were in their heyday.

Randy works for/with thefightnetwork, so it doesn't get much more official than them.
"a healthy competative MMA world" you mean where we don't get to see the best fighting the best and no unified titles. All that means is more diluded fight cards, if all the best are in one basket then it shouldn't be any better then that. And then again looking at the 78 card it's still not too impressive.

Well, this is out of left fucking field. I'd prefer Randy vs Fedor was in the UFC to be honest as rings=the suck for mma, and I don't want to watch it at 6 in the morning on sunday, but as long as it gets made I will be happy.
As for the fight, Randy is still under contract for 9 months, so it won't be before that, which will make Randy 45 most likely by the time of the fight.
As for M-1, I'd be very surprised if it was anybody other than Bodog who has done business with M1 before, or EliteXC, who has moved clearly into second place in the world for every weightclass north of 155/160.
It really sounds like Randy is very pissed off.

But it wouldn't surprise me though if it was Cuban....sounds like something he could pull off with the Russkies.....it's going to be an interesting time for MMA thats for sure!

Interesting.
Couture probably feels that, since he has already decimated Sylvia and Gonzaga, he has nothing to gain by staying in the UFC. I kind of see his point...he really only has things to lose at this stage in his career, and with Liddell looking like total shit + possibly retiring, avenging his two most important losses are out of the question.
That leaves Fedor...could he be chasing Fedor? I doubt it - Couture comes off, at least to me, as a very mature guy, not one that would play cat-and-mouse with a guy who clearly has been avoiding HIM lately. Add in the fact that Couture appears PISSED at the UFC/Dana White, and this looks legit.

I see why, if Fedor is gonna continue to duck him and the UFC, then why not?
Oh stfu already.

i remember the time when hogan jumped to wcw. it started the monday night wars and brought the pro wrestling business to all time highs. i hope something like that happens with mma. many thought that ufc buying pridefc would be nice for the sport, clearly it wasnt. i hope someone competes with ufc and getting couture to sign with them will be a great start.

Maybe Couture will try and get to M1 for one last fight.

evidently couture was pissed about his money, but what about all the bonuses and endorsement deals we keep hearing about, randy?

So rumors are heating up that another organization was behind Randy's resignation, in particular this new organization that is being created with Fedor at the helm.
