Today, I REALLY fell off the diet bandwagon.

I ate 10 slices of pizza and a slice of birthday cake. For perspective, I'm only supposed to be eating about 1600 cals a day.:patsch

Anyone else just really lose control sometimes? And are you immediately better the next day, like it does you good to screw up once in awhile?

Apparently it's good to have cheat days, as long as you eat well for 6/7 days you'll still be good. Not that I'm an expert, everyday is a cheat day for me. I always say tomorrow I will eat properly :patsch

No. Your lack of discipline is unexcusable. I never stray from my strict religous lifestyle.

I have been on binge mode the last few weeks, just need to relax after a hectic schedule. Back in fighting mode now.

My diet is pretty good though I do have a cheat day once a week, though I do that on sundays when I run 7-8 miles. Though I do sometimes over do it. Last sunday I made a chicken and mushroom pie (920 cals per portion) and made a chocolate tart which was about a 1000 cals per slice!

My big weakness recently though has been alcohol, too many reasons to go out drinking most weekends.

Its not hard to get back on. Yesterday I fucked up pretty bad in having three ice cream bars and that new double down sandwich from KFC... Thing is bloody awful for you.

Just get back to it the next day. Not hard really, just let the shame fuel you. :yep

Aw, fudge. Timely thread. I've been rather ill and off training for the last week or so, and burying myself in law books, began to stress eat - no, gobble, cookies and chocolates.

All that training and strict dieting wasted. Genuinely bummed.

:-(

You must be some cook! That sounds scrumptious.

I do the same when I am ill. Was ill last week due to overtraining and started to gobble down yum yums and chocolate biscuits.

The tart was very nice but very rich, couldn't eat more than a slice felt to guilty eating it, will try to cook something not so unhealthy this weekend.

More biscuits today. Good thing I don't have a massive oven at home, or I'd be churning out apple cobblers and such.

About 23:30 today, I finally broke. Sod it, I'm going for a run and some skipping! I lasted exactly a week without exercise. Lost a bit of hand speed and put on a bit of flab around the middle, but no serious damage done.

Damn, it feels so good to be back on track! :bbb

My worst discipline failure happened only last week..... I went to a trendy wine bar and had a glass of rose and not a beer....... SSSSHHHH!!!! KEEP IT DOWN, lads. I was on that slippery slope, I might have started hankering after pine kitchens, sleeping on futons, eating tappas. I could have started having "relationships" instead of sleeping with random women. Got married, got on the property ladder. God Almighty, who knows where it could have ended, next thing you know, I’ve stopped boxing and taken playing squash with a guy called Gerald..... it was a lucky escape.

I'm pretty lucky that I don't really crave sweets. Those pack the most calories.
If you're eating only 1600 calories a day, you might be pushing yourself too hard to be honest. I really can't count calories for the life of me. Anyway I'm back at it and my diet has been working pretty good so far. I'm 6' 167 lbs , started at 173 6 weeks ago. 1-2 lbs a week is sustainable loss and can be healthy if you're doing it right.
Eating more meals, but smaller amounts is really the way to go, but I don't really have time for that (5-6 is optimal).
I've been really cutting down on the bread pasta grain categories, honestly i don't eat them at all. But a good way to go about eating these is to eat more of these carbs every 3 days, and the other 2 days skimp on them. I have a few of them on sunday only (choose wheat multigrains with the least amount of sugar added).
Breakfast
i eat 1/2 bag of grapes, and 1/2 to 1 cup of nuts. (eat fruits early in the day cause they have lotta sugar)
Lunch
3-4 tomatoes or 1/2 cauliflower boiled or 2 avocados , 1 bundle of asparagus boiled and then sauteed w garlic S n P (personal favorite) also i pretty much just eat whatever veggies i want, but these are my personal choices
also 8-10 oz of turkey breast, thats 1 package from the supermarket
Dinner
all the same things for veggies, but since i have time to cook meat, ill do chicken breast, boiled if im lazy, and sometimes ill get pork chops like this week, yummm.
you can substitute eggs for protein, 5 egg whites and 1 egg white and yolk is good proportion.

You need to be losing fat, and not losing your muscle mass. Eat lots of protein, and eat even more vegetables, cause in my diet thats my #1 source of carbs.

P.S. now that i think about it, i have this sick craving for lemon jelly donuts FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I smoke Newports. I drink almost every night, and somehow still manage to maintain this bod...

...maybe my running at least 4 miles every single day makes up for it?

You're not even denting that bag, not meaning to be offensive.

Are you a runner? Why do you run 4 miles every single day?

step forward with your left foot, push off with your right foot with every jab you throw. Turn your punches over more. example, if you were throwing a punch and your hand was open, your palm would be facing the floor. but try to get your thumb to be pointing lower than horizontal. Try to "turn your punch over" at the last second before impact to give it that snap. Try to keep your elbow a little higher. And when you throw that right turn your body so your body is square with the bag.

I never have a problem with diet because I've got this lightspeed metabolism but one of my worse failures is running. I have no problem doing it but once I get into it after a few days or weeks, one night I'll tell myself, "You can take one night off. You're in great shape." Then that one night turns into two, then five etc. I've never gone more than five days without running and I hope I can get back into it this summer. One of the last runs I did was a 5K which took me a little over 25 minutes and I really want to improve on that

new day, new chances. It happens. Just to be happy it was just a pizza.

side note - ChrisKim47: I think the fact that he didn't loop one of his punches at the end is the least of his problems.
