the most intense training drill for us is called 'the bench'

it goes like this....

we start from 30,

30 jumps up and down a long bench (it is those short school bench's) and then 30 burpees, on the next go its 29 jumps and 29 burpees and so on...

if one of us gets caught cheating we all have to do that set again,

alot of the guys in the gym hide in the changing rooms to get away from this, we do this once in a while usually when we least expect it, i must admit at first i hid in the changing rooms to get away from it, first time i done it i was unfit and i had to throw up after,

in my opinion a drill like this is too much maybe if we did 20 sets, but who am i to argue with the trainers?

the second most intense drill we do is in the summer when they decide to take us to a local track, we do a different distance each day, usually it goes like this...

400 meter sprint 10 burpees, 20 jumping jacks and 10 press up and then we jog back to the starting line take a minute break and repeat9 more times.

or actually go on [Only registered and activated users can see links] ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) and ask about 'the bench' in their boards, someone must have a video there.

a couple of times a week, i do 6*400 meter sprints. its tough, and seems a lot more beneficial than just distance running (which may be good for bodyfat loss, but its not really going to leave you winded).

i dont know we dont usually time it, it usually depends on how fast everyone is doing it, we dont move on to the next set until everyone has completed it.

well we dont do it all at once.

we first do 30 then wait briefly for everyone else to finish, then 29 and so on........

i haven't been in training for a while because i have been fasting but next time we do this i will definatly have it filmed, alot of people want to see this,

my club isn't the only club to do this, there are other clubs nearby which perform the same drill (peacock and repton) some even do more than us.

when we first started this we started from 12 reps then months later it moved to 20 (we thought we had it bad there) and now we are at 30.

and anyway why would i lie about this? who am i trying to impress? a bunch of guys i dont know over the internet?

i just listed a few drills we do to give ideas, try them if you want, if you dont then dont.

He never said however many straight. Anyway, even if he did say that why is it hard to believe, because you can't do it?

Paddy Doyle's world record - 15 min: 470, 19 Feb 1992, Stocks, Birmingham WR

Are you sure you can do 23/24second 200's? At only 90% intensity?

A really good time for a high-school track kid is in the 22's...and that's at 110% intensity, using starting blocks, track spikes, starting gun, etc...And they only run one!
