didn't challenge the Mayweather/Mosley fight with a fight card of his own? I'm glad he didn't but I am suprised, I'm thinking he pretty much knew the numbers would be way disproportionally towards the boxing event.

Yeah, I think he knew he would get blown out of the water.

UFC does'nt have big enough names to put on a show to compete with tonights fight. Only Lesnar/Fedor or Anderson/Fedor would be big enough.

Dana's a wanker but even he said he is excited about this fight and will be watching with interest....I assume bullshit aside he is a actual fight fan like all us.

I think he's taken enough beatings for now. You can only talk shit and lose ratings wise for so long until you just look desperate.

Now he's interested in bullying strikeforce.

if i remember he DID have a card planned for may 1st but changed the date because Pac-Floyd was suppose to take place, after that fell through and Mosley-May took its place dana must have just been like "fuck it, its already moved"

It would be stupid business. Competing cards don't help anyone. On the other hand, people get interested in boxing and Strikeforce could help UFC do better numbers.

He'd have gotten his ass handed to him had he tried to counter last nights fight with one of his piss poor PPV events.

He'd have to have put on something of the magnitude of UFC 100 to even compete.

There are 2 guys in boxing still that the UFC still can't compete with, no need to name them cause everybody knows who they are. But after the 2, the UFC can compete with any other boxer out there IMO.

Yeah no doubt Floyd and Pac ARE boxing right now, at least as far as the general public is concerned. It would be suicide to run a ppv card against a Mayweather fight, but I'm surprised the UFC didn't have a Fight Night on Spike.

There is a reason Mayweather vs Mosley had a shit undercard (despite it being sold as something decent) and that is because they know the main event will sell itself. A VERY SAD truth but the truth nonetheless.

Take any card coming up and it's probably a better card then Mayweather vs Mosley but would do less in competition. Mayweathers broken into the mainstream and that is hard to beat.
