Interesting points being made there. Its been discussed several times before UFC fighters earn peanuts compared to what the brand UFC earns. But thats just the way the cookie crumbles. Mayweather is his own Brand. Its the same as Fedor. Im sure sooner or later the fighters will fight back and start demanding a percentage of the PPV

Part of the reason Fedor won't sign or associate with UFC, they are the same typical scumbag corporate enterprise ripping off the ones doing real work. Shame on UFC...

You know nothing. M-1 and Finkelstein are the real reasons Fedor isn't in the UFC. Dana was willing to give in to all of M-1's crazy demands except one; the only way Fedor's management would let him sign to the UFC was if Dana was willing to co-promote events with M-1 and that just isn't going to happen.

Oh yeah..compared to mayweather , ufc fighters are paid like shit. (well , not even compared to him)...

different or more sponsors play a big part too...

But that's not what i'm shocked about. If you ask me...the most shocking thing of all is to see a boxer , F1 racer , golfer , tennis or basketball player getting paid millions while firemen (who risk their lives , and are real heros).. or Doctors , brain surgeons , scientists etc...never will.

Millions !...for kicking or dribbling a fucking ball... :-(

UFC pay structure is MUCH BETTER than boxing. I sincerely hope boxing starts offering ko of the night, fight of the night, win bonus etc

MMA will slowly start getting paid a little more money. It is slowly getting higher. It needs the top fighters to earn more and that will trickle down. Guys like Liddell, Couture, Ortiz, Machida, Lesnar etc are the sort of guys who will get paid more.

It won't be long before the top stars in MMA start breaking away and staging their own fights....

That's when the fun starts...

GSP, in his last fight, made more then $3,000,000. While not $25,000,000, it's certainly not peanuts. And that's just from the organization alone. Not to mention his sponsors.

Not bad for a sport that's barely been around over a decade. And came from the worst possible beginnings. The worst.

Give us another 100 years and then ask again.

Depends really on how often he fights. How much are deductables i.e to his team, trainers, renting of facilicties etc. Also if he gets the same amount each fight which I highly doubt

These guys aren't paid millions but they are often paid in one fight what the average man earns in a year so they are not on the bread line. MMA are in the sport because the love it. Boxers are usually in it to get out of the ghetto.

The bottom line is - Do you wana watch a full card of good matchups and regular santcioned matches where mandoatories mean something - Or watch one good fight and four fights with John Duddy and Alfonso Gomez involved?

Other options. Collective bargaining like in other 'league' sports. There has to be something like that, or as more fighters become Fedor-famous, they're going to want more money, and that means leaving the UFC.

Well for starters they don't see the whole pay cheque, they don't get things like super annuation, retirement funds or other workplace benefits. Their careers end around about 30-35 which basically leaves them with a useless trade to live the rest of their life.

What about the nature of their work, they definitely deserve to be renumerated properly for their work.

They don't see the paycheque but these guys get more then a pay cheque. Sponsorship is huge in MMA.

The nature of their work should be taken into consideration but earning a years wages in 15 or 25 minutes is impressive. You must also consider that MMA enjoy their trade, boxers don't. Guys get into boxing to get out of the ghetto and earn money. Wrestlers, Judokas etc tend to actually enjoy their sport and are now being paid to practice it. Otherwise they would all be in boxing trying to earn a buck.

Whats your point? You lied and said the reason Fedor wasn't in the UFC is because their bad business practices when Fedor is a part-owner and managed by a far more corrupt and manipulative promotion in M-1. Clearly you don't know what your talking about.
