View Full Version : Hatton is not on Mayweathers level!

It would be a great big fight but at the end Mayweather is clearly the better man. It doesnt care of they fight at 140 or 147, Mayweather will beat Hatton, maybe by KO if they fight on 140 because at superlightweight-level Mayweathers punch is pretty good. And Hatton feels better at 140 than at 147 thats why he moved down to 140 again, and Mayweather would have no problem to make 140 pounds again, at this weight hes most effective anyway because hes not just fast and skilled but powerfull as well.

Right now, there aren't many fighters on Mayweathers level, with the possible exception of Mosely, or Cotto.

I agree Hatton is not on Mayweathers level, but i still think he could defeat him in a one off fight!

I think everyone agree's that mayweather is far superior to hatton and everyone else down there but apart from mosley v mayweather which would be a bore fest or cooto v mayweather which would be embarressing for cotto the only other candidate that could get near to beating pbf is hatton and it makes sense money wise.

I do not like mayweather but i do respect him and i would hate to see the ass leave boxing now in his prime before he has managed to trully clean up and possibly gain the universal respect his talent deserves. If he does not fight either one or all of the mentioned fighters at the opponents desierd wieght he will prob always just be remembered as the little punk ass bitch who nicked the easy title's such as boldomir and the shot de la hoya.

you can't hold that against Hatton - not many people are on PBF's level (maybe only Mosley and Cotto)

This is also a hunch I have. No doubt that Mayweather has outstanding skills, but does he really enjoy a fight? A REAL fight, like Hatton would give him? We all know Hatton loves a tear up.

Hatton may not test Mayweather's skills more than anyone else so far has, but he WOULD test his heart and desire, and this is why Hatton has a reasonable chance of winning

Yes I did say that, but I was lying then and now I'm telling the truth!!

My avatars will all be variations on a Frank Sidebottom theme for a while

No such thing as "not in his level". As long as it'll be a close competitive fight(which I believe it would've been if it ever happened) then he is in his level.

Doesn't matter.

They won't fight Floyd.

Other than probably DLH, what other fighter on PBF's resume is clearly better than Hatton:huhI'd consider Hatton at 140 to be a better win, even if Oscar was the bigger win.

I agree that on paper maywhether is the better of the 2 but when they get in that ring if hatton can close him down and start dishing out those body shots..............

i'd like to see how floyd reacts to being clinched, held, tied up and roughed up while hatton throws those ferocious body shots.

Can't wait for this fight to jump off, PBF should pull off a UD/SD but it would be a tough scrap in the process. The fight would resemble a Cotto/Mayweather bout with less clinching/bearhugging.

Id love to see Hatton knock mayweather down at least, maybe at long last he will get some respect at last from over the pond.
Still no doubt if he was a american some on here would be declearing him the second coming of christ, but becasue hes a brit,he gets ripped on.Either hes a holder,or a cheat,or the guys he fights are old and useless.
Funny how they become old and useless after he batters them, where as before hes apparently gonna get a lesson in how to fight.
In all probability he will not win,but i bet he will let gayflower know hes been in a fucking fight.

Other than probably DLH, what other fighter on PBF's resume is clearly better than Hatton:huh I don't know about clearly, but I think Castillo is better when Floyd fought him. I think Zab is still better slightly than Hatton, and a few of the people at 130 are better skill wise like Hernandez and Chavez.

It dosen't matter if Hatton's not on his level. Mayweather should still make the fight. He'd be a clear favourite, but by fighting and beating Hatton, he improves his legacy no end and shuts up a lot of critics.

Hatton taking the fight, shuts up a lot of his critics too. Mainly the ones who are saying he's ducking FMJ.

Its fine to believe whatever you will about who's the better fighter. However, Hatton and Mayweather proved to be the top two at 40 in 2005 and Hatton was/is the Champion. So, the fight should happen and the world should find out what's what:good

This fight is going to turn out the same as the DLH fight. Hatton will press some action and come forward with arm and shoulder punches, causing some to say he was the aggressor and therefore should have won. But in the end, PBF's speed and skill will be too much for Hatton and he will lose in a lop-sided UD.

Doesn't matter.

They won't fight Floyd.

He's not a swarmer, no longer throws effective punches on the inside, won't beat Castillo, etc

Mayweather has already proven he has both heart and desire to win a tough match.

We'll talk when they have the balls to fight. I told you that it all depended on what Castillo had left and I overestimated the size of his gas tank.
