It pisses me off all the worl champs out there. this is what i think one of the biggest problems with boxing, look at ufc they dont ave 5 world champs in one weight class. they should all go get fucked or just combine to make one world champinship 4 each class:twisted:

This guy is right. It's nothing new tho, but he's 100% right. There should be only one champ in one division.

Fighters tend to make more money if they hold a piece of alphabet crap, so it is a small price to pay for boxing fans IMO.
If you are a fan, you know who the best fighters are, and do not need the alphabet organizations or indeed The Ring to tell who is the champ.

Yea, it would definetly be better to have one belt in each weight, but it will never happen

Good idea, but nearly impossible. Can't put the other organizations out of business unless they actually get caught for their crooked deeds.
Here's to hoping they will.

In the Diaz fight, the old lady in the ring was holding a green wbc belt and it had "youth" inscribided on it? Other than that it looked the same as the regular belt. What the hell is that?

There are three world champs in each weight class. We don't count IBO, WBO and WBU titles. It's still two too many though.

lets just all start to recognize one belt like IBF! Lets just don't give a f*ck about WBC;WBA:WBO
And i'm not even talking about IBo IBO WBF
You will see if IBF will be the belt then everybody will want to fight for it!

You will see if IBF will be the belt then everybody will want to fight for it!That's what I have always thought. Although we should pick the oldest belt not the IBF. Anyway, a good start would be to stop recognizing the Micky Mouse belts like WBU and WBO.

my point was not about oldest belt! It could even be WBF belt who gives a f**C what belt it is the moust important is to have real champion only one!
That would be funny if we would ignore all belts exept WBF and then klitschko and others will start to target that belt as they would like to prove that they are the best!:D

That's the WBC Youth Title, no joke!!!!
That's crazy. Do you have to be under 14 to win it or just look young enough? Those types of belts make boxing less credible. It's a shame.

Nobody here has mentioned any solutions!. This is the free market gone wild. We need to get the major federal governments to unite and come up with a once and for all champion for each weight class. A United Nations of championship boxing! John McCain where are you???? The most laughable part is the champions of one ABC organization are rarely recognized by the other organizations. In August, the WBA did not have Klitschko ranked! Same with the WBC or the IBF. At least the IBO ranks the other ABC beltholders. Boxing Counties unite for One True Champion for each division.

UFC as an orginization only has one champion, But MMA as a sport just like boxing has multiple orginizations. There is UFC, Pride, Elite XC and a bunch of others, all with their own champions. That last UFC event was a unification of the UFC and Pride fighting light heavyweight championship.

Lol, as if the UFC is the haven where everyone knows who the champion is?
MMA is bigger than the UFC, just like boxing is bigger than the WBO or Golden Boy Promotions. Is Randy Couture the best HW in the world, or Fedor Emelianenko? Who is the MMA Lightweight champion (and think twice about it before you say Sean Sherk)?
There aren't AS many problems in MMA, perhaps, but it aint perfect either.

You know- this complicated belt story all started when GOD created man-----check out some of the animals---U do'nt get a WBA or WBC lion---theres only 1 and he's the boss of the pride--he fought all comers to be number 1-----unfortunately everything man touches turns to shit!!!!!

The Ring belt is the only one that matters, the closest to the Lineal Title.
I completely ignore the other pseudo-belts.

IMO, the wbc seems to have more name recognition and is one of the better organizations at its ranking systems.

MMA will soon have the same problems boxing does with multiple "world championships" and heres why.
It's all about the Promoters. And the Networks. Look at HBO and Showtime. HBO CHAMPIONSHIP boxing, Showtime CHAMPIONSHIP boxing, even though HBO has a laughable and anal (Dont get too excited El Rey) view of talking about the titles, never mentioning the WBC, or the WBA ect on a broadcast. Yet, they know that they only want title fights on HBOPPV. If you are a promoter, you need Championship Gold, whether to sell a massive fight, like PBF-DLH, with the WBC title on the line, and 50 Cent holding all the gold, or if you are a small time promoter, putting together some fights on the Reservation's Casino, if you have "Boxing Tonite" no one shows, but you put "Championship Boxing" on the marquee for the IBFNAA Title, people want to see the local favorite parading around with the belt. :hat
yer thats a good point

yer couldnt name one ufc fighter, but what iam saying is it would b eazyer 4 people to notice the world champ if there was one , or to b able to call your self the world champ if u where the only one 4 that weight class.

Look at those rankings again. Do you see any WBA, WBO or IBF champs on the WBC rankings? Or WBC, WBA or IBF beltholders on the WBO rankings? No you don't. It's because the big 4 has an agreement to recognize eachother's titleholders as champions so they don't rank them. The IBO is not a major title and is not recognized by the top 4. They have a computerized ranking system (a much better one than the boxrec crap) and they rank the top 100 fighters in each division (only the top 50 below 118lbs) regardless of what strap they wear.
