Id love to have another fight, iv only fought in a freestyle karate comp.
If i fight again ill be doin a heap more cardio, i was so stuffed in my fights i couldnt kick with any power at all.
Id love to have a boxing fight, but i dont see it happening unless a mate would come to boxing with me more often.
I don't really have the time to commit to it, and I am too old now to really make a fist of it. I would love to more then anything though, and I think about it all the time. The training is the hardest part, and the biggest deterrent. To really do it properly and be in shape to fight, you have to try to break yourself each and every training session. Its the sort of thing I would only do if I knew my chance of success was high. I love sparring, but the running and the 5 days a week of intense bag/pad work plus weights ect is what kills me. The other factor is that it consumes your life. It isn't just a sport its a lifestyle. You have to watch what you eat, it takes up heaps of time, you are always tired at work ect. Still, even with all this, there is that part of me that thinks I will regret it if I never just find a good gym and at least try to get maybe 5-10 fights under my belt.

If I can find a good gym... Just a word of warning but some gyms won't train girls. My old gym didn't for instance. I have a listing of Brisbane gyms though, so I will start making some calls tomorrow and get back to you. My hours make it hard also. I work near Springfield/Camira, and finish usually just after 5. So I need to find a gym that trains suitable hours. I was going to join up the fortitude valley pcyc, which apparently has some decent amatuers, but they won't allow people to start after 5:30 which is too late. I was thinking of maybe training at westend or something? Does anybody know any good gyms?

Im thinking about it currently.
I had a go a few years ago, was training 3-4 days a week and was looking to have an amateur fight or two but ended up breaking my jaw while sparring for what would have been my first fight. I haven't been back since as getting surgery took time and I wasn't really wrapped in the trainers (not to mention the 20kgs I put on).

Im 21 at moment and lucky enough to be making good cash playing rugby league so boxing aint on the page at the moment.Still train once a week with my uncle who is a former aus amateur champ(back in the 80's lol).
I like to spar but my contract doesnt allow me to really do too much physical shit outside of footy.
Though if footy doesnt pan out how im hoping it does within the next few years i might jump back in the ring..Though i like bragging about my 5-0 amateur record.Could be tooting my own horn but think i could be a aus champ if i took boxing seriously. My best weight would be super middle weight in the pros and middleweight in amateurs..Cant see my bod getting back there as my footy weight is 87kgs at moment..

im fine now. none of the docs i saw could tell me what happened or wat caused it. i am putting it down to a very rough and wild child hood.
but i just feel like i never really got to show ppl how good i thought i was so thats why i will have a pro fight and see what happens after that, i dint want to win a world title or that i just want to know for my self if i could have been a good pro or not. its more for self satisfaction

myself i want to fight soon but realistically i think to myself that i might be another 6-18 months off depending on my developement, as im only 19 and currently weigh about 110 (was 130) ive been sitting on that weight for a while now prob bit less actually, ive just started sparring a few times, done millions of rounds of intense body work(i reckon this gets you reel fit), and basically i see myself as theres a few areas i have to work on before i start fighting, that sometimes i do really stupidly when i spar and will get caught with a punch i shouldnt..... im proba harder marker on myself then anybody else so i expect myself to be completely 100 percent when i take my first fight....
theres a few other things but i dont want to rabble on if anyone isnt interest lol , but if they are just ask.....

i have really started to lift the tempo this week. at the moment i am mainly focusing on fitness and stamina. so once im fit the i will work on technec and power.
im try alot of new stuff that i have never done before. so if i see or read something about endureance training i will try it out and see if it works for me.
i also like to sparr the new guys. it gets me moving and they know it wont load up on them

do you do duck walks super-setted with tuck jumps? , that is a killa exercise.
there is a big thought it fitness atm, that a intense short workout far outweighs a long endurance workout, now im not saying long boxing classes are bad in anyway, but out of the gym, if you squeeze in some extra workout, you could do super intense 20min workouts, and get a huge gain in your cardio fitness.
sometime i do punch workouts in my lounge in front of a mirror, i just dance on my toes punching for the full 15min not stop, it a good feeling and its quik.
do you do any weight? if i was you, comin down in weight i probaly wouldnt, but doin some explosive weights could help your speed and strength.
Like jumping squats with a barbell on your back.

to duck walk, you just squat down, knees out in front, bum about 50cm from the ground and walk (waddle), walk out five metres, then duck walk backwards to the the spot you started, do ten tuck jumps and repeat, its a killa exercise!! and Geale use to do it.....need i say anymore :deal
try chins and push-ups as a superset, gives your whole upper torso a pump.

You dont know shit, your lucky i dont get on a plane and come give you a fuckin beating!!!! How fuckin dare you hang it on the Nightmare, bitch, ill be your fucking nightmare if you ever say something like this again!!
Go train with bitches your limp-dick, its about the only sparring you could look good in.
hahaha.... Don't get your panties in a bunch because I gave your boyfriend shit. From your perspective, when your lips are around his dick I'm sure his face doesn't matter anyway. As far as sparring goes mate, I would beat you like Floyd did to Gatti. Toy with you round by round to let me really deal out some punishment haha

All you see is the fabric, getting in the way of that nice juicy dick....

I love Tasmainian logic. You suck dicks so that means I want a mouth stretching??? I am puzzled. I'll take it real slow for you mate so you can understand. Where I live, we don't suck our dad/brother off before bed. We don't f*ck the dog and we don't throw our mum on the spit. I understand that you guys are brought up differently up there, and I won't judge you for it, but you just need to be a bit more accepting of other peoples less "incestuous" values...
Bring it on you twinkle toed hockey poof
Come get some you 12 toed stoner!!! I'll beat seven shades of sh*t out of you.

How did training go last night Leckie?? Did you skip mate?
I hit the focus pads last night, felt pretty good, i just wish my mates new a little more about boxing so they could correct me if my technique. I think i hold my shoulders too high still from Muay Thai.

i dont recommend u do to much on the pads with a novice cause u will pick up alot of bad habbits. are u training for fitness or to have fight

Well done mate!! you did it, and now you can only get better at it.
Yeah i know what your saying, but im very hard on myself, and try and correct myself if i can.
I follow the basics, keepin my hands up, hands straight back to the chin after i punch, punch from my chin, not drop my hands then punch.
Mate id love to have a fight, i just have to get to the boxing gym to make it happen. I think if Geale fought down here again , id be able to get on the card, there is not many fighters in tassie.
So what weight will you get down to?
Im 5"10 and 70kg atm, but i think i could drop to 65kg pretty easy.
Id love to have a good spar with a boxer, iv only sparred Kickboxing.

WOW 18kg to drop, well mate, good luck, but if you eat right and train hard im sure you could get it off in say 18 months. Is that about the time frame your thinking it will take? It might be a good idea not to think of the weight and just see how much comes off youin time.
Im comin in march i think, mate we should catch up, ill come to your gym for sure.
Last night between the pads we shadow box in front of a mirror, but it always looks to me as my shoulders are too high, like im trying to touch my ears with them, or maybe thats because i have my chin down. You will be able to tell me i guess mate. Ill have to video myself soon doin some work.

mate if your chin is tucked in properly i can look like your shoulder are abit high from certain angels. but u are doing the right thing always keep ur chin down, hands up, punch from the chin and bring your hands back as fast as u throw them out.
for sure if u come up u are more then welcome to come to the gym.
i have been training for 4 weeks and have dropped 7 kgs already.

I still havent done any, ill probaly do them alone so ill just shadow box, feel like a bit of a tool asking my mates to tape me hitting the pads, but thats being a pussy, and ill just do it ok.
Oh fuck yeah mate, iv done heaps and heaps of kickboxing sparring, we sparred every lesson at my old gym and iv sparred against other styles a fair bit.
Im a good kickboxer, i have good reactions to shin blocking still, still throw a mean round kick, ill never forgot how to kickbox, i used to take the classes when the trainer couldnt show up.
