Well, maybe he won't, but I think he stands a great chance in this one.
He merely needs to survive any early onslaughts, maintain his distance, jab, and throw more punches than Holyfield.
This may be the career-defining victory for Lou Savarese!

That would be nice to see him win & Holy laid to rest. But with our luck, Holy will let the haymakers fly & Lou will get nailed.
Maybe not. When is that fight? This weekend? PPV? Thats a joke.:!:
Sure he would.

Honestly, are you that certain of a Holyfield victory? If Lou survives the early-going, Holyfield will stop throwing punches.
Expect a Big Victory for Big Lou!

If Holyfield cannot stop Lou early, which I doubt he can, then I don't see how he's going to throw enough punches to get by Big Lou.

I think it's going to be a Holyfield win, and quite possibly by stoppage.
You can't argue with the power of the shot that put Savarese's last opponent down, but I can't see Holyfield standing there with his gloves not up and letting Lou wind up a shot like that.
And on the flip side, Lou's defence and workrate looked real poor.

Depends what kind of shape savarese is in. I have not seen anything on his condition. He didn't look to good last time i saw him.

He's said he is around 241-243 at the moment, which is definitely good shape.
But even in his prime, I had issues with his defence. Add to that the simple fact he's 41 now, and can't fight at a busy pace anymore...I would definitely be surprised if Lou won this one. I think it's almost as much of a set-up for Holyfield as Maddalone, in terms of a guy who's style should help Holy look good.

I saw a prime Savarese get dropped by an ancient Mark Young years ago..
He did ok for a limited heavyweight (boxing George and Grant) but on massive occasions let himself down.

I was at that fight BigCat- Lou won that fight via decision, it was in upstate NY. The first time he ever went down in his career- amatuer or pro was against Izon. I have been friends with Lou since our teenage years and been to most of his fights- will be going to El Paso for this one.
Anyway, with that said- Lou is really in tremendous shape for this fight and I expect a war. I trained with him for several months last year hitting the weights- the guy is a dedicated worker. Was benching close to 400lbs- best shape he can be in at his age- it will be apparent when he gets in the ring. As it will be for Evander as well. Both guys are coming to brawl.
Definitely the key will be for Lou to survive the early couple of rounds vs Evander and take him deep. Opportunity will be there for Lou to land some bombs when Holyfield slows down. It's going to be a slugfest for sure while it lasts.

This has to be one of the worst PPV I have ever seen. Talk about irrelavent to anyting, neither are even top HW's anymore.
It could end up being like the Holyfield vs Oqueerdo fight. Slow, alot of holding and little action.

I still don't understand hwy Holyfield would take this fight?!
Beating Savarese won't get Holyfield any closer to a title shot.

If you dont mind squandering 29.95 to watch two 40 + year old Hw's fight. Go ahead, it will end up being like Holyfeild vs Ruiz 5! With the Oquendo fight being all but Ruiz vs Holyfield 4, it was that bad . Watch Holy vs Byrd & Larry Donald to get an idea were Holyfeild stands as a contender now.

IŽll never count the Real Deal out - but if he steps up after this, I have a feeling that it will be his last win......

The three Ruiz vs Holyfield fights has to be among the worst trilogies in boxing history. Holy was then easily dominated by Byrd, Toney, Donald in poor efforts . Holy finally won a fight against Oqueerdo in an epically bad fight. Holy demolished two scrubs in exciting fasion in his last two fights, but I cant help but think it is going to turn into another really shitty fight when Holyfeild steps up from total bums to a fringe contender . The big question is what does Lou have at this point, total bum ( shot) or fringe contender?

I think that heŽs a fringe bum - but weŽll see soon.
