Mayweather has only been "retired" for almost 2 months, is only 30, and is considered p4p the best out there. I'm pretty sure no one would make up the excuses you named. Face it, Castillo is old and struggled in his previous fight against a decent opponent. Although I give Hatton credit for beating Tszyu, Kostya was also old and had fought 1 fight in the past 29 months. If Hatton beats Mayweather, any reasonable fan would have to say it was a great victory for Hatton. Meanwhile Hatton fans already have built in excuses for why Ricky will lose(weight, location etc.)

If Hatton beat Mayweather he would probably be number 2 p4p behind Pacman (depending on what happens with Bhop vs Winky of course) Hatton would also solidify his status as an HOF. Though the only way he would beat Mayweather is if you tie Mayweather's hands behind his back. Hatton is alright, even though his style can frustrate me sometimes but he's great for boxing so I must like him regardless. Not to forget that he's a great guy overall anyway. Fine, then whoever wins should get full credit with no excuses. Also, look at Floyd's fights. Besides the fights with Castillo and DLH, he has won all his fights by KO or by a wide margin on the scorecards. He hasn't really had many bad performances. He openly states that he has fought most of his fights with bad hands, but that still hasn't stopped him from dominating.

I generally hate excuses in boxing basically cos there is always something you can blame but you would get more respect if you keep your mouth shut and dont winge. Yes I too find it frustrating when some posters just all out dismiss a fighters chances at another elite....especially when both fighters are undefeated and in their primes. Don't take all the posters seriously though I know plenty of them are out there to bust your balls, hey even I do it from time to time so tuck your chin and come out swinging.;)

Floyd is faster in every aspect and will just simply out move and out box Hatton. Hatton will look good in spirts but would not be able to tie up Mayweather long enough to do enough damage. The ring will be huge and mayweather will have a lot of room to run around. Hatton will eat alot of leather trying to come in and end up grasping for air. I think Floyd wins easy UD. Hatton will find it alot harder to clinch with someone who has faster feet than he does. Oh an please don't make up excuses when Hatton loses. Should be a good scrap either way, Mayweather is an advanced version of Collazo though a bit less engaged and a bit more crafty making it a good battle of two champs.

mayweather's simply a genius and he wins this fight.however i think hatton's style does give him difficulties.hatton will have trained like never before for this fight and there were signs his intensity and drive had returned against castillo.he is a lot smarter and intellegent fighter than some on here realise his trainer graham will have studied literally hundreds of hours of pbf's fights and they will have definite fight plan for hatton to follow,these guys shouldn't be underestimated.i think it is hatton's speed of foot and general intensity which can draw floyd into enough close quarter encounters to make him uncomfortable.hatton is a lot quicker than de la hoya,baldomir and castillo.the thing is mayweather is so gifted in all aspects of the art that he simply copes and usually with a little bit to spare.even on the inside he's good enough and his power is underrated he did hurt oscar and even though hatton's chin is sound you wouldn't rule out the possibility of him knocking hatton out.i would take pbf by ud or late stoppage.to answer the question if hatton were to win he would be top 3 pfp and definitely be considered a top 10 all time british great.
