Atomic Bull, baby!

Of all the 39 and over fighters who are back in the ring, I think McCall is second only to Evander, as far as potential goes. And he's first, as far as likeability. He also seems to be right next to Evander, as far as discipline and conditioning.

And his personality makes him a fighter you can't help but like and take interest in;

McCall seems like an underdog that you can't help but support. :good I look forward to seeing him get in there with a big name.

It's good for Lewis career that McCall is still getting notable wins.

It would be interesting to see McCall v Peter, just because McCall has a chin and a punch.

That was great HRH! Thanks for finding that. :thumbsup

I've always been a huge Ollie McCall fan. Probably due to my never really liking Lewis, but the more I saw him the more I wanted him to win. Looks like he's turned his life around, and at his age, still a legit contender. I* would favor Wlad over him, but I sure as hell wouldn't be shocked if Atomic Bull KO'd the big guy.

HE also has the best nickname in boxing right now.:deal

You've just gotta love a guy that uses his chin as his main form of defence....

Shame I think he's going to get shafted in the "negotiations" for Vitlays WBC bullshit that's going on.....

After I was unfortunate enough to be in the audience for Hasim Rahman's dismal performance this past Thursday in New York, I am even more impressed by the conditioning of the 39 year old Oliver McCall. He seems to have more focus and determination than a lot of the younger heavies out there. Talk about turning your life around.

How TF was Sam vs Mccall a title eliminator, when there is already two mandatory challengers wating for a WBC title shot ( Peter, then Vitali ). Both Sam and Mcall have been fighting poor opposition, and no way should be fighting a title eliminator. It was a battle of fat and slow, vs old and slow, a never was vs a has been.

Juan Carlos Gomez far deserves a title shot than either of those two, as he easily beat both. Although it was later ruled a ND for using a non performance enhancing drug.

Mc Call is tough to beat. Even when Lewis got a stoppage it wasn't like he was knocking him down or hurting him really bad. He just quit fighting back.

Maybe Tua and Mc Call could fight and the winner fights the winner of Maskev-Peter?

I think Tua is well out of any title picture at the moment.
More importantly for McCall, his chance at the WBC title is likely to be at least a year away so he's going to need to keep his hand in. He was making noises about giving SSS a rematch...

My mistake. I knew he was in his forties, I don't know why I typed 39.

Props to McCall. He's doing good. Does anyone know if he's ranked by the other sanctioning bodies?

I just dont think he should wait around for the WBC. Theyve got some fights they need to work out.

Problem is, Samil Sam was not ranked in the #10 for anyone except the WBC...they really are McCall's best chance at a title, short of having to fight at least a couple more times to get into position for another one.

Remember that even though he supposedly is on this big win streak, that's because his loss to Gomez (where he supposedly lost rather clearly) was changed to a No Contest (for a positive cocaine test by Gomez).

Evander Holyfield vs Oliver McCall
WBC/WBO World Heavyweight Championship

There is honestly no fight in the heavyweight division that would interest me more. The only other that comes close is Vitali/Peter.

I agree that Tua is out of the title picture at the moment but with a win over Mc Call he could be back in the mix.

McCall says in the interview on the main page that he got his entire purse, cause he wasnt' KOed. He didn't get double cause he didn't KO SSS, but he didn't lose anything, cause he wasn't KOed, either. So both got their pay.

I also think McCall - Holyfield would be a great fight, as someone else has said. :good McCall needs to stay active as he waits for his titleshot, and he will probably be well into the last half of 2008 before he sees any titleshot. (assuming he dont' get screwed out of it before it happens)
