View Full Version : Cotto should win easy

Considering Mosley is past his prime a while now.
Really I think people are overrating Mosley in this match and therefore give Cotto too much credit if he wins.
Not to take anything away from Cotto though but there are way tougher/more difficult fights. If Mósley is the toughest fight of his career it says something about the point were Cotto is at this moment..I mean did Mosley impress in his last few fights? Don't think so
Let's not make Mosley out for a prime Mosley. It's a young, very very hungry, disciplined fighter against an over the hill, but once top fighter.
Experience vs. youth
But, I am really looking forward to this fight and think it wil be a war with Cotto coming out on top.

mosley isn't shot, he is still fast as ever, he just doesn't throw good combination punches as he used to, i expect him to have the upperhand over cotto, but cotto always surprises me.

You seem troubled and quite indecisive, are you an Aquarian?

It's clear Mosley's not the same fighter from years back but the man is still a top fighter. I would/will be quite impressed with a TKO stoppage by Cotto.

Cotto beating Mosley, will be more impressive than Hatton beating Castillo.
Agree?
If not, you haven't got a clue.

Mosley is only slightly past his prime, his recent performances have been quite impressive, he dominated a slick southpaw who gave prime Hatton all he could handle Luis Collazo, he knocked out Vargas in the rematch and beat him up in the first bout. He is taller with londer reach. He fought at 154 at the time Cotto fought at 140.

I think Cotto will win, but it will not be easy at all. Mosley still has speed, power, and he's still extremely strong.

You guys are forgetting Mosely is fighting way bigger men than when he was in his hay day. Mosely is still on the p4p list and will be a big win for Cotto. I am one that doesnt think Cotto will win but the guy always makes me a believer. Why dont you think your p4p king PBF hasnt taken on Mosely? Ill tell you why, because he hasnt slowed down enough for PBF's taste.

I predict Mosley to give Cotto all kinds of trouble, but when Cotto starts to struggle he will produce his famous low blows. They have served him well in times of need, and I believe he will need a few against Mosley.

Mosely may be past his prime but he is still a very good fighter. I don't think anyone beats him easy. I do favor Cotto but I think it'll be a really tough fight for him.

mosley looked extremely sharp against callozo. A flashback to his dominent welter days. It will be a huge in for Cotto if he beats mosley. However, I think mosley wins this one. Overhand rights all night on cotto, mosley will take him out.

this will b a barn burner of a fight...cotto by decsision but i wouldnt b suprised if old man mosley had enough speed n tricks in his bag 2 pull this 1 off somehow...this division is hot and i think a cotto win does heaps 4 it but then again mosley in my opinion could give moneyboy more trouble than cotto...

Win or lose, don't expect much out of Mosley after this fight. Cotto does that to opponents. Mosley can win 7-5 or 8-4 and still end up being a shot fighter afterwards cuz of the punishment he'll take in the process.

I'm going with Cotto.. But Mosley is no pushover at all even though he is slightly past his prime. I wouldnt be suprised with a Mosley win either. But I say Cotto is going to take this fight.

No no, Mosley for sure is no joke, I never said that. He's tough as nails.
Haha yeah when I said ''easy'' I ment theoretically.. Of course it won't be an easy fight, for neither of them!
But Cotto's freshness, will, power, pressure and low blows wil win him this fight imo

Man, Relentless is a real Champion around here, we're on October the 20th and few days away from fight night and still you give the respect both men deserve by sayin whatch ya sayin and having that avatar...
Admittedly, there was a period where Mosley went headhunting, but really, the drop in workrate has had more to do with his style being, to a certain degree, figured out.
Jack Mosley talked sometime ago about how he thought Cotto was a good match stylitically for Shane, so I know they've analysed this. Besides, Shane isn't the type to get ahead of himself. He was expecting Cintron and got a late match with tricky southpaw Collazo. That should have been a tough match in theory, but Shane is a student of the game, he'll be prepared. It's the little things that Mosley does that give the straight up, hard punching, break you down types fits. It's also worth remembering that Mosley developed his bodypunching in the Cali gyms fighting Mexicans that employ a very similar approach to Cotto.
I am one to think Cotto's handlers are going for all or nothing, matching him with the likes of Zab, Tony Margarito, Shane and possibly even Floyd... Cotto has been delivering as the tough SOB he is of course.

Mosley has the chin, power and speed advantage over Cotto and has been in the ring with way better comp, Cotto struggled with Judah who isn't even in Shane's league, for all of you Cotto lover's put your $$$$$$$$$$$ on him and you will lose your ASS..:happy

Considering how Mosley recently disposed of Collazo despite the fact that Hatton went life and death against Collazo, and that now Hatton is fighting Mayweather, I think Cotto deserves some credit if he beats Mosley, even if its close and not easy .

It will be competetive enough, but the result (a Cotto win) will not be in doubt at any time.

Remember Vernon Forest vs. Mosley.
Cotto brings alot more to the table than Forest.
So,
I agree.
Cotto wins easy.
