The one thing that I never liked in Pride as opposed to the UFC is that they appeared to stop the bouts a lil' prematurely and it was done with regularity unless your name was Rampage Jackson. They would throw Rampage to the fuckin' wolves. So, in essence, you could never really get a come from behind victory in Pride. After getting "KO'd" the fighters are able to quickly rise to their feet unassisted. No one ever has to help 'em up and they never have to stay down on the mat for while to regain their senses. It's just a lil' anti-climactic if you ask me. But, hey, enjoy nonetheless.

Huh? No way, I thought the complete opposite.
The pride refs were terrible they allowed fighters to get punished way to much.

Your wrong on that one.

Hell, no! Are you crazy. They treat each fighter (outside of Rampage Jackson) like a fuckin' skirt. As soon as a dude falls hes "KO'd." That shit ain't cool. Allow a fighter the opportunity to turn the tides.

Name some fights that that has happaned?
The only fight I can think of is Emelianenko vs Thompson

Outside of that fight most pride refs allowed a bit of punishment to go on too long, Frye-Thompson for instance.

I thought the frye- Thompson fight was a video mishap, because Frye reminded me of a bobble head the way he was taking all those shots and not going down and it was happening over and over.

You can't be serious, have you seen Frye-Thompson?
Silva vs Fujita?
Yoshida vs Crocop? Where the ref just arbitrarily gave Yoshida 30 extra seconds for no reason other than blatant favoritisim?
Zentsov vs Yvel? Where Zentsov KO'd him, looked at the ref to stop it, waited a few seconds, then finally hit Yvel's lifeless body to get the stop?

Yeah, it's awesome. So what if it means real live damage against real live people with friends, family, and aspirations? IT'S 2 DA XTREME!!!

The refs in Pride had a reputation for letting fights go on far too long. Infact it was often said that the first MMA death would be in Pride, because the refs were prepared to let the fights go to such ridiculous lengths. Look at the Yoshida vs Thompson fight, where the ref literally drags a semi-conscious Yoshida back to the centre of the ring, before allowing Thompson to continue the beating.

To say the refs in Pride were known for premature stoppages is just plain wrong.

Sakuraba actually used to get encouraged to take as much punishment as possible.
