A couple I know went to a party in London recently where they held an auction hoping all the pissed up(drunk) city boys would splash their cash- some of the lots were signed memorabilia of Michael Watson's- he was actually there to watch. Very painful to witness as only one lot sold for not very much money. Not many people even knew who he was. :verysad

That's sad to hear. The boxing community - in every country - should do more to help former fighters, particularly those who have been seriously injured in the ring. It's a shame people didn't even know who Watson was. Sh*t, I'm from the U.S. and am very familiar with his career, and remember when he was injured.
