It was reported by Steve Springer of the Los Angeles Times that Floyd Mayweather, Jr. vs. Ricky Hatton has a tentative date of November 10, with Las Vegas being the most logical site.
After days of back and forth verbal battles through the media, both fighters are ready to make the fight a reality. The biggest obstacle appears to be the amount of money each fighter will receive.
Hatton received $2.5 million for the four-round stoppage of Jose Luis Castillo last weekend in Las Vegas, while Mayweather made $20 million for his split decision win over Oscar De La Hoya on May 5. Mayweather is almost sure to demand a significant chunk of money for the fight. Art Pelullo, Hatton's promoter in America, told the paper that if both sides can agree on money - the fight will happen.
"If we can reach agreement on the money, there's no reason it can't happen," said Pelullo.

Bad fight for Hatton. But at least Mayweather is facing a guy in his prime this time. I'll give him credit for that.
Mayweather stops him on cuts within 6 rounds. :good

About god damn. Two undisputed champs (Hatton at 140 and Mayweather at 147) are going to fight each other.
A Catch weight of 144 I think would be far to both fighters and a 60-40 spilt going to Mayweather seems far.
This fight would be HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I really hope this fight gets made. Mayweather looks unbeatable but Hatton is in his prime and very dangerous, i'll be rooting for Hatton who is a really great guy and appraochable while pbf is prob the biggest dick head in sport.
Roll on Nov 10th...

Mayweather would probably make 10 - 15 mil and Hatton would walk away with about 5 mil. This would ofcourse be huge, two undefeated great fighters going at it, 2 different styles and both in their prime.

Shit I was really disgusted with Kellerman's shouting on Hatton-Castillo, but damn, if this fight gets made he needs to get some credit.

From a spectacle point of view a fight at wembley would be absolutely amazing..........can you imagine that.....????............Obviously wont happen but it would surpass ANY venue that FM's team could offer in America.......I know some dont like it but the atmosphere generated at UK venues is something that simply cant be matched over the pond...........Jesus I have watched fights in welsh valley's working mens clubs with a crowd of 400 that generated more atmosphere than FM v DLH............!!!!!

Look at it this way: if Hatton wins, he'll be able to fight the rematch and all his later fights in England.

If the fight between Mayweather v Hatton happens it would be at welterweight but would it be for the ibo belt? Its a minor detail but I just wonder what belt they`ll fight for.

I agree with everything here. Spot on. If Mayweather has home advantage, Hatton is entitled to call the fight at 140 or at least 144. 60/40 Mayweather sounds about right to me.
I'd also ensure there was a rematch clause with the rematch(if thought attractive enough) in Britain

 Very embarrassing indeed. Hatton will sell 10,000 tickets min just from UK fans. That's before his US fans buy any.
Mayweather probably sells a couple of hundred max!!

i really want this fight to come off, but unlike some other american's here i would love to see it happen in england in front of thousands upon thousands of shouting, singing, cheering brits so when floyd outclasses him, there will be an entire stadium in silence and awe. And i don't even like floyd but no way hatton beats him.
knockout

I hope this will pull through cuz i wanna see floyd whoop on him.

Think about it this way my NYC brother.....
Once Cotto takes out Margo/Williams he will fight the winner of that Nov 10th bout between Hatton/PBF (most likely PBF wins this) and its on Cotto vs PBF :D
Or Hatton vs Cotto there's always a chance that Hatton huggs Floyd enough times and Floyd gives in to Hattons sexual advances.:yep
Just joking my English brothers.

Wont be silence mate, will be a riot!
Arran you've always been a blind patriotic prick but I must commend you for at least being consistant. Think about how boring this site would be if everyone used logic and commen sense when chosing a winner of a bout such as Hatton vs PBF. More power to your my extremely ethnocentric friend. :good

I think that one of the biggest decisions around this fight is what ref is assigned!
If you assign someone like Steve Smoger who breaks the fighters quickly and doesn't allow the fightes to punch their way our, then Hatton's job is going to be that much more difficult.
However, if you get a ref like Joe Cortez who lets the fighters go a little more then Hatton is at a real advantage.
Mayweather should win the fight and probably on points. Hatton's only chance is to make this fight frustrating as hell, hard to score, and physical. I think this is a bad match up for Hatton at any weight above 140.

I completely disagree with you man... I mean a total 180 bro, Steve Smoger is one of the best Ref's in the game he'll allow just enough holding and clinching to keep the bout running as smooth and fan freindly as possible. Steve knows boxing and he knows Hatton's strategy and he will let Hatton do a bit of hugging and clinching but he will not let it linger to long. Its an excellent blend of controlling the fight without being the third fighter in the ring. Cortez in my opinion takes way to much initiative in a bout.

Well we can agree to disagree...I have just seen too often when Smoger makes himself too big a part of the fight.
I think that you can agree though that the choice of ref is gonna make a big difference with these guys based on their styles?
