My vote goes to Hamed even though I'm a huge Castillo fan and think he was also a great fighter. Hamed is underrated. Barrera was an absolute monster in that fight, and Hamed was already past his better days and had already accomplished a ton of achievements in his career.

edit. Forgot to make this a poll so lets just discuss it

I would say Hamed was overrated if anything. He had good skills and power, but only against guys who stood there to be hit. He had terrible balance and was made to look bad all too often.
If he had come back a better fighter after getting schooled by Barrera, and went on to establish himself somewhere near the top of the pile, then he might be considered great.
As it was, he bottled it after Barrera and that's all I'll remember him for.
Castillo comes out on top as the greater boxer, even though Naz was more entertaining to watch.

Hamed had a four year reign of dominance, while Castillo had reigns of two years and one year. I go with Hamed.

Plus, Castillo was always too big for lightweight while Hamed was always too small for featherweight.

Hamed and by some distance. A long reign of terror whilst fighting out of his division. Castillos achievements are still very decent though.

When you say great boxer, are you referring to their accomplishment or their skills itself?? If we're talking about their technical ability, of course Castillo shits all over him. THere's no comparison.. Castiilo takes a massive shit on Hamed..

Castillo's resume also looks alot better.

No, it does not, losses are also apart of a resume and Castillo recieved a gift over Casamayor and a lucky decision over Stevie Johnston.

Castillo should have beaten Mayweather, but ever since that fight(which was a Mayweather off night to begin with), he's been ABSURDLY overrated.

Hamed deserves to be ranked higher. Hamed has a single loss to a cemented ATG, Castillo has recent time losses and several gifts over non-ATG's, he's also never really outclassed a B+ level fighter like a true elite should.

It's really close, though.

In terms of having fights against borderline HOF's/atg's, then I'd say Castillo has the advantage. But, on the whole, I'd say Hamed was a bit more impressive against his top-caliber opponents (MAB notwithstanding). You could make a case for either fighter, depending upon the criteria you use.

When did you get back?:yep

Help me support your guy Hamed over Castillo, which is a damned certainty.

You can almost rank Hamed on Tszyu's level, but I do not, and Castillo is a step below Kostya in rankings.

I have to go with Castillo. Hamed was finished after the loss to Barrera.

castillo was the better boxer, but hamed was more efficient..textbook styles aint worth shit if you dominate without it. its just the ideal..

Hameds Bungu win is underrated, Bungu was considered number 1 at 122 above Morales and MAB.

McColough was also an ex-champ and arguably unbeaten deserving the win over 122 WBC Champ Zaragoza

I scored the Cassa fight against Castillo, the 2 Mayweather fights against him (nothing to be ashamed of there). Both Johnston fights probably could have gone either way

Hamed was more emphatically dominant and was an unbeaten champion from 1995-2001
