Not bad.

I've seen that Cranmer fight, sad stuff. The promoters should have been jailed for that.

Yes it was. For him to go out like that.... it truly is heartbreaking.

Especially since, in my opinion, Quarry would have knocked this guy out in about 30 seconds in his prime. If that.

I think it was too short.

Quarry's an interesting and tragic figure, so more info can definitely be added to the article.

I'd agree with that. What was there was interesting, but the article could have included more detail on what happened to Quarry after the fight, or perhaps also could have included some info on his '83 comeback. Quarry essentially came back twice, and undoubtedly both ill-advised comebacks contributed to his eventually sad demise.

I agree with what some of the other guys have said. If was good as far as it went but it was a little short and could gone a lot deeper.

It was better than a lot of the shit that gets on that front page these days....;O)

I remember reading in a boxing mag (KO or the Ring) about how Quarry's father abused the kids.

One of the kids ran from a fight or something, so the dad supposedly made him suck on a pacifier with a sign that says "I'm not a Quarry, I'm a quitter". My details might be off, but it was something to that extent.

Really messed up and sad.

I think it's a nice thumbnail, well done.

You should consider a series of thumb nail sketches on the 70's contender types, all of them. They tend to get swallowed up by Ali/Frazier/Foreman/Norton. Be worth a read.

nice article.

i've always been interested in this boxers life. the quarry brothers all ended up demented and only one is still alive i think. his and his families story is the real dark side of boxing. never seen him v Cranmer however, but imagine a homes v ali or iran barklay in 1999 type of affair.
