Not the first time, and not the last time people have said that about upcoming Hatton fights... ;)

Some editors are a little more jumpy than others. I wouldn't take this as anything more than a rumor.

The winner of this fight will be the best fighter in the last ten years.

Do not see it happening, there is not enough intrest to make it pay for Mayweather.

I think Hatton's next big fight will be Mosley; Mayweather is only going fight for huge money, that means the only fight available to him is a de la Hoya rematch IMO.

He has to realize that's unreazonable kind of $$ to expect at this point. There's no interest in an Oscar rematch from anyone and Hatton is one of the next biggest names.

We are talking about a man who turned down a four fight $30Million contract because he considered it "slave wages"...

I hope I'm wrong but I don't see how they'd be the first to know.
The peliminary offer was made today, I think it would take longer than that to have anything in ink........Wouldn't it??????????:think

Boxrec always jumps the gun, so there is virtually no credibiliy whatsoever there. I hope the fight is made for later this year and I would love to see Ricky win. I would bet on Floyd winning a tough, but well-deserved decision.

What do you mean boxrec is rarley accurate? Its almost always accurate. I remember that Zab Judah comeback fight, it was updated right away, as soon as the decision was announced.

It's timely, but it ain't accurate. They get ahead of themselves all the time, and it makes you mistrust their schedule completely. Too many examples to cite, I just stopped looking at it.

He did not turn down a 4 fight $30 million contract. First off, no 20 something year old would turn down that kind of money, second HBO would never offer that type of money to Floyd. He had never even headlined a ppv at that point. The deal was around $13 million for 6 fights. That's still a lot of money, but a far cry from $30 million over 4 fights.

yes! It makes sense to fight a guy like hatton now and let cotto build more of a fan base. Especially as the Cotto fight has the potential to be a bigger fight then the Hatton fight will be. Let cotto destroy margarito and shane mosely then he'll be a huge mainstream draw.
