It would be much closer than that. This a pretty good matchup, one guy is an offensive tornado and the other is a defensive brick wall with a great jab.. It would be much closer than a wide UD.

Winky's jab is great and his defense is among the best I've ever seen, but Roy Jones Jr at 160 was unreal. I think his speed, reflexes, and movement wouldn't give Winky much of a chance to get off at the rate he likes too. There probably wouldn't be many clean punches landed, but after seeing Jones the way he handled guys at 160 and Toney at 168, I believe he would win a comfortable decision (9-3 or so) over Winky. He just wouldn't be there for Winky to hit and he would give him all sorts of angles and unorthodox punches.

I actually think this fight will be much closer than most people think. Winky has an ATG great jab and even against a boxing god like Jones was at 160 he would still find Jones with it. I think Winky could possibly give Jones fits with his southpaw stance, workrate, defense and jab but I would still favor Jones by 8-4 or 7-5.

Winky would lose every round. He'd have some flurries when Jones backed into the ropes, but unlike Taylor, Roy didn't constantly lie there to be hit early in his career. He'd dance circles and potshot the slower Wright for an easy, boring UD.

Because Winky is troubled deeply by good movers who utilise lateral movement, being that RJJ is one of the quickest fighters ever and a fantastic mover, he will land whenever he times Wright and Wright won't be able to plant to score enough....

Not to mention, Wright's landed shots won't have any effect like RJJ's will, RJJ would always be landing the harder shots.

Defense and chin, people are we 4gettin how good Roy was in his prime. That man was damn near superhuman in his prime. He would kill WInky wright. Roy was ridiculously fast at this weight. and power was incredible. Winky got hurt in the fight with shane monsley. You think he would of allowed Roy 2 get that free shot he did Mosley? No b/c he would be seeing stars lol. Chin? Winky chin is kinda suspect. Thats why he has such a great defense to not get hit on that chin. I watched a fight where the man got knocked down 5 times in a round. And the punches werent even that hard, or didnt seem to be. Dont get me wrong I like Winky, hes one of my favorite fighters, and hes a damn good 1. But against Roy at 160, thats murder wainting to happen for that man to b honest. People need 2 watch old RJJ tapes to remember how good he was be4 you base this fight on what you are seeing now from RJ

People who think Winky would have a chance need to remember his fight against Sam Soliman. Winky's defense is exceptional against guys who stand and wing shots, but Solimon's movement and awkward angles enabled him to land around Wink's guard repeatedly.

Those shots didn't have anything on them, and I had Winky winning the decision comfortably, but imagine what a guy with faster hands, faster feet and much more power would do to Winky. Wink would either go into a shell and not fight (like so many Jones opponents), get desperate and get stopped, or possibly get stopped due to swelling.

Terrible style matchup for Wright.

This is not even close. The only one I can think to beat a prime Jones Jr at 160 is Hagler.
Winky would be out classed in all aspect. His shield and his jabs are definitely not sufficient to even bother Jones at his best.

Yeah, OK. Just like every other fighter was ill when he looked bad. Maybe that would explain Wink's reluctance to pursue a KO, but it does nothing to dispel his issues with unorthodox punchers.
