It was a close fight that I scored for De La Hoya.

Lots of people did, then again many thought that Shane won too so it wasn't a robbery. I thought Oscar took a worse beating in the first fight.

By the way i've been trying to dig up some pics for you NAWFAL, don't think I just put in my .02 cents and aren't trying to bring something meaningful to the table.

No way, Oscar got hit with worse shot in the 1st, but he def won the second.

Oscar easily won that fight. His face was cut and bruised do to a nasty
headbutt in the 4th round. That must be the beating that you thought of.

i am a fan of both oscar and shane, i hated it when they had to fight both times, first fight was awesome and mosley won that, on the second fight oscars jab was the business, i dont think shane expected it and thought he would come out like the first fight, i thought oscar won the second fight but got tired quicker, i think having mayweather sr helped oscar quiet abit.

nope, shane beat the shit of oscar 7-12......even do he threw one shot at a time, he landed hard shots to the head and body that was far more effective that oscar pit pat job........

that is what lead to unanimous decision.....but i kinda saw oscar winning 1-6

I had it 115-113 for Mosley, no way a schooling, but at the end of the fight if I had to pick a role, it would have been Mosley because of the hard shots. I felt he inflicted more of a beating than Oscar despite not landing near as many punches... :good

you have to remember- Mosley was all Balco'd up on The Creme and The Clear, leading to his recovery and strength in the late rounds- check out his back in one of them shots , sick muscles, once he came off after the investigation, was one lethargic mofo when WW did a number on him.

Far from a schooling. Oscar's body is the only thing that took a beating in that fight.

This is true. Shane was committed to the body in this fight, and Oscar paid for that. Big time! That's why everyone says he was so tired at the end of the fight. Hello!?
Oscar may have looked prettier up top, but Shane was the one doin the real damage. I'm just glad the judges noticed it too. You never know in a DeLayahoya fight.

You mean how two judges had him winning NINE rounds against Whitaker?

You mean how he could have lost the 12th round against Quartey and still not lost the fight?

Yeah, Sturm is the only time the judges favored him.

At that point in time all the close ones went to Oscar except Trinidad. He was the media darling. The "Golden Boy".
I saw Trinidad as a "correction factor". I thought for SSM2 they were making a statement. "You're on your own kid. You CAN lose a close fight."
But then came Sturm. :patsch

Again. Oscar may have been "robbed" against Trinidad. But they were transfering the crown to Felix. Hoping with a little push he would become the next big thing. Then give back to the sport.
At that time Oscar was everywhere. Doin all kinds of stuff. He was on lunchboxes for pete's sake. He was giving to the sport in a runoff kind of fashion. His "fans" weren't necessarily boxing fans.
Trinidad on the other hand was at the foot of the mountain with his legion of hardcore boxing fans.
Oscar looked good in that fight.
I call it a "correction". You call it a "robbery".
As far as I was concerned SSM2 was fought on even ground.
SSM beat the crap out of Oscar that night.
I think we are in agreement on Sturm. That was obvious. Even casual fans knew the deal.

120-109.

Well that's about where we'd expect the leader of the OSCARSEXUALS to score ANY Oscar fight, even if Oscar KO'd the guy in the first round !

You're objectivity in this regard is noted.

Have you stopped humping your seeing-eye dog yet ?

I hear his name is Oscar. (He's not the real deal, and probably harmless, but it won't improve your eyesight any, and it could hinder your 'recovery' )

You're right about the first fight but how in hell you see Oscar winning the second fight by 3 rounds is absolutely insane. 28 sportswriters were at ringside that night and 17 had Mosley winning. Lennox Lewis had Mosley, Mickey Ward had Mosley, Burt Sugar and Nigel of Ring Magazine had Mosley.
Steve Springer of the LA Times said if you were at ringside that night it was impossible to give it to Oscar after hearing those horrible groans and moans coming from Oscar every time Moslley landed those body shots. Oscar was really hurt and those pitty-pat jabs of Oscars were doing no damage.
Oscar lost that night. He was given those wins against Sturm, Whitaler and quartey too. It's a shame Doumby butOscar just can't beat the elite.
He tries but always comes up short.
