The following is an excerpt from Dave Meltzer's news update from yesterday at WrestlingObserver.com regarding the rumors of PRIDE returning and holding a show in Japan in October

According to Dana White, the stories of a Pride show on 10/11 are as accurate as last week’s story about an August card. In other words, nothing to them at all no matter what is being said in Japan.

And PRIDE's future remains uncertain.

Hahaha!...Well , they sure have loads of freakshows (so did pride though)...and you know what? that shit can be forgiven cause pride also had the top talents...they had a bit of everything..

K1's Heros is not on par with what pride used to be but let's not ignore some of the talents they have or are going to get..
Kharitonov , alexander and maybe barnett are gonna fight over there...Lesnar may or may not stay with K1 but He's certainly top notch in the wrestling department....not a top mma fighter yet but...

They have kid yamamoto , Yoshihiro Akiyama..both are P4P top fighters...I don't know them all but they do have some exciting fighters here and there..

What is so important about keeping pride shows? Especially when they would be owned by the owners of UFC anyways.

better rules...
knees on the ground , soccer kicks , stomps , fighters are allowed to wear a Gi , or shoes... the action takes place in a ring...

their round system is better imo..
1rst round , 10 full minutes...2round = 5 minutes , same for round 3...

Way superior production , better intros , more seats...etc...hell even the pride fc theme is better than ufc's theme...everything about pride had something special..something better than ufc's format.

unfortunatley for them...this fucking yakuza scandal ruined the entire company.

Yes the Yakuza scandal that was never proven and had no concrete evidence shown to back up the claim.
The TV station PRIDE was on took this newpaper journalist for his word and pulled PRIDE of the airwaves all together!

WTF is that all about? Not even a proper review or study to check out if it was true?
Insanity.

I know several people who fought in Pride, and they have been in trouble for quite some time. This was just the last straw which brought about the inevitable end of Pride. Obviously they weren't doing something right.

I am not really into name dropping or revealing who I am. Not that I am anyone special. Let's just say that I know a good bit of the american fighters who have fought in pride. I have trained with most of the well known american fighters in UFC and Pride at one time or another. As well as some real beasts that nobody really knows about that fight on the minor circuits.

name drop some of these "hidden gems" then. Honestly I don't care who you are, I would be interested in following the careers of some young up and comers.

I will give two guys about to enter MMA that you should look out for. Look out for Johny Hendricks and Jake Rosholt. Two amazing wrestlers out of Oklahoma State who are about to break into MMA.

Team Takedown could end up being the next Team Quest or Team RAW, they are starting with younger guys, who are more acclimated to MMA through at least knowing about it whereas the other teams were starting from scratch more or less, and have arguable more talented wrestlers (in terms of folkstyle, although they would probably be just as apt to follow in the other guys success in the International styles if they so chose as they have 3 Junior national championships in Freestyle between the two of them, which again has to do with them being younger)

Plus you're leaving out Eric Bradley, who has a college boxing title, whatever that means, he might be the one with the most early succes.

With that said, the class action lawsuit against DSE by the former fighters of Pride is, I suspect, a major obstacle to getting everything under control, do you know any insider (or even outsider) information on that?
