Cotto, Hatton, Margarito, or Mosley???
These are some of the names that come to mind when speaking of the next potential opponent for Floyd. Who do you think deserves a shot at him the most and why?:think

Probably Hatton.
He's the Junior Welterweight Champ, is at his peak and defeated the guy that gave Mayweather most problems.
The four of them deserve shots -I'm talkin about Cotto, Hatton, Mosley and Margo/Williams winner- and I'll be satisfied if Mayweather fights any of them. Maybe I'll be happier if PBF fights Cotto or Hatton. Why? Well, Mosley is past his prime; Williams and Margarito aren't big enough.
LOL wanted to click Mosley but clicked on Hatton.
Hatton is second I think behind Mosley because he is P4P and has picked up some nice names in the past 2 years (namely KT and JLC). Marg would be third with Cotto in 4th...that being said, the fight I want to see most is PBF vs Cotto.

i agree here, Hatton is the best choice, Hatton or Cotto as a matter of fact. B/c if Floyd were to fight Mosley and beat him, people would say he beat a past prime mosley and he wouldnt get the credit he deserves. Fight Hatton or Cotto, they are both undefeated and are both in their prime. So Cotto or Hatton is the way to go. Either way thats money in the bank for FLoyd

I voted for Cotto just because im a nuthugger and think that he has destroyed enough fighters in his path and the next sacrificial goat for him is Mayweather. I wanna know what are the views of other people are thats why I made the thread...

the people want to see "superfight's" so PBF vs Mosley is the superfight that will actually sale alot of tickets and raise alot of interest! then Hatton then Cotto but both of those fighters are similiar style and will bring on the same results! but Mosley will expose PBF and give him his first loss! why do you people think he dances around and trash talks Mosley? he know's thats a loss waiting to happen!:deal

Wow you think Hatton and Cotto are similar...:huh Sorry but thats an insult. Cotto absolutely hates holding and uses a sharp jab, while Hatton is a wrestling puncher with t-rex arms.

Mosley hes Floyds mandatory challenger at Welterweight. Oscar got to fight Floyd and Mosley beat him twice so that aint right.

I picked Mosley.
He maybe the last standing fighter in his generation of fighters. A 3 divisional Champ, with the necessary fighting style that can be a good match of that of Floyd.
Someday people will be wondering and guessing what could have happened if this fight won't be made before Mosley retires, so let's root for this now.

Margarito. If were really talking about actually deserving. Then probably Cotto and Shane then Hatton.
Margarito because of his longevity and reign at 147. Not to mention he's defeating the other contenders, not feasting on 'names' that just look good on a resume.
Cotto next because of his rise. Shane becuase of how he looked vs. Collazo as well as previous reigns @ 147. Then Hatton, as the 140 champ. But I think 147 isn't a good fit for him.

SSM First, IMO from a legacy perspective. Mosley isnt getting younger and with DLH/SSM/GBP it should happen. Thing is?? Financially?? Hatton is the most lucrative. I dont have a problem if Hatton's first, but SSM should get Floyd NEXT. It's all about money for Floyd:good
It seems likely that a Margarito vs Cotto collision is imminent if Margarito beats Williams. This winner SHOULD BE NEXT if Margarito vs Cotto happens,AFTER Mosley.

all this hatton talk, but is this fight at jr. ww? if so yeah ricky, but at ww ricky already showed he suffers alot with the xtra 7 lbs where he barely got by collazo. so i don't see that happening. i think mosley at 147, maybe margo since he has waited so long. shane would be the hardest fight for pbf.
Floyd aint Collazo in terms of size OR STYLE:good You can argue better but not more physical.
The Mad Hatton
06-29-2007, 01:39 AM
I'm a Hatton fan, so naturally I want Floyd Hatton. I believe Hatton deserves it the most because he's currently the undefeated king of a division, and he and Floyd never settled their score. It would be the top ten pound for pounder, and current undefeated king of 140 vs the #1 pound for pounder, and current undefeated king of 147.
Mosley would be my second choice, because he's accomplished far more in his career than anyone on else on the list. He blew away his competition at lightweight, beat Oscar twice, was once the man at 147, and I believe he was #1 pound for pounder as well. He also put up two respectable, yet unsuccessful fights against now former 154 king Winky. But, he does not currently stand on top of any division.
Margarito and Cotto are a pickem for the third spot.
All four would give Floyd a hard fight, and it's not inconceivable that they could beat him.

Who deserves the most right ?
Definitely Cotto. He fought 3 times at welterweights and proved he was top 3 welterweight.
Mosley could be the number one right now but Cotto deserves the first shot, imo.
I voted Moseley, because he is probably the best match for Floyd, with equal skills and better accomplishments, and only age to slow him down. On the other hand, he hasn't done much lately to merit a title shot particularly now. In terms of deserving the fight now, then it should be Hatton or Cotto, but in overall terms, it's Moseley, the multi-weight champ, DLH-conqueror, and boxing superstar.

Wait, I take it back.
Betty White is currently battling osteoperosis and incontinence. This drops her down to #30,000,000,001 and bumps that Margarito guy up a spot to the 30 Billionth most deserving human on the planet.

Deserves the most? Ofcourse Mosley. Mosley gave shot to Forest, Wright, Collazo, even tho there were bigger $ and less risk elswhere.

Mosley obviously deserves it the most..but I think Floyd doesn't like this fight to happen because IF he wins, people will just say ''Shane is past it, if he were in his prime he would've beat Floyd''...Mosley would be a very competitive opponent for Mayweather, even at this point of his career (Shane still has some good fights left in him imo..his performance against Collazo was very good), but it's pretty obvious Mayweather has nothing to win here. Hatton however just got off a big win, is in his prime and is undefeated...he may not deserve it as much as Mosley, but it's just clearly the smarter choice for Mayweather.

COTTO BY A FUCKIN MILE
A FUCKIN MILE.
Hatton has 2 wins that are good.
Cotto has like 10
Ditto for margarito.
Cotto has paid his dues as a top prospect with the right backing.
His body of work exceeds anything the other three have done IF you consider that Mosley has lost 4 times to to 2 guys.
I take it get to 10-2 you are counting KOing Maussa as a good win for Cotto but not for Hatton?

It's not just about wins, Shane's resume is great, Cotto isn't on that level (yet). Just look at the names Mosley has fought and the titles he won. If anyone deserves a shot at Floyd it's him. Hatton is just the obvious choice here for Floyd. And Cotto, I'm sure he will get his shot. Thing is Cotto can reach a much higher level in terms of greatness WITHOUT having to fight Mayweather...he could easily clean out 147 and make his name bigger, that would surely draw Mayweather's attention..matter of fact, after he beats the winner of Williams/Margarito, Cotto should fight Mosley. The winner would get a fight with Mayweather no doubt. If Cotto beats Mosley he has done everything he can, there would be nothing in between him and Floyd. And if Mosley would take out Cotto, the world would know Shane is NOT past it and he would get the shot at the p4p king.

Cotto deserves it head and shoulders IMHO.
Agreed ,I think his win over Judah secured that imo ..

Shane has gotten too many high profile fights.
and too many rematches
and is now fighting Vargas who has becoming a stepping stone to elites for money.
he doesn't deserve shit.
and i am being honest and have no hate for the guy.
Hatton deserves it more then Mosley cause he still fights however crappy it looks.
Mosley doesn't deserve anything cause he already got it.
Cotto has not had a true super fight yet even though he has beaten the toughest and hungriest young fighters of his class.
INCLUDING those same shitty veterans i am sure people count as great wins for PBF (i.e. Corley and Judah).
Cotto deserves it head and shoulders IMHO.
I see your point. I just think Mosley DOES deserve it because he already had alot of big fights, he's still standing above Floyd imo, even though he's been defeated a few times..the Collazo fight proved he still has what it takes. But we obviously view this from different perspectives, that's ok. I do think Cotto deserves the fight, but I'd rather see him get just a few more fights under his belt. I really think he has the best chance of beating Mayweather out of all fighters, but he's not at the top yet. Career-wise and skill-wise, I think he needs a few more fights to face the top dog. At least the winner of Williams/Margarito...
