Good fights to watch of Tyson?

I was told before to watch Tyson to learn more about his peek-a-boo style defense and i'm wondering what particular fights of his really showcase this.

Yeah but i need to know specifically what fights he really showcased his skills in, because i have dial-up and it'll take me something like 2-3 hours to download 10 minutes of video. Yeah that's a pain!:tired

I'm not really a huge tyson fan, otherwise i would just know so any of you tyson fans out there could really help me out.

tysons a good head slip artist but there are far better men same with power handspeed combo's tons more why tyson

^^^^ true there are fighters who were better than tyson in each of those areas but none of them put all of it together like tyson. he had great power, great speed, nd great skill in his prime

For excitement I love Tysons matches because Tyson doesnt sit back and throw jabs, he goes, went, straight in and was aggresive. From the fights I saw.

I suggest you watch more fighters than just Tyson, perhaps his style is not good for you. I'm short and stocky so at first I thought the same, I wanted to become a second Tyson. I've tried many things and my conclusion so far is that's it's better for me to watch Toney than Tyson, style wise. It just suits me a lot better.

Then again if I hadn't tried peek-a-boo I would not have experienced that, so perhaps it's better just to do your own thing and see where it goes from there.

Well yeah, i'm going to watch more fighters obviously. But every time i ask questions about peek-a-boo i get told to "watch Tyson". If anyone knows any other fighters who uses a good peek-a-boo (or a variant) they should tell me and i'll watch them too. I'm going to use whatever defense works best for me in different situations, so i'm not stuck on a certain style. Who knows- i might wind up using some other defense mainly, but i don't think it can hurt to study lots of defenses- if only to learn how to break them if i have to.:lol:

In short, i'm still in the "learning and experimenting" stage.

i'm guessing you want fights in which tyson's ability to slip and avoid punches while coming in forward is on display. then in that case forget watching tyson vs spinks like the guy above posted. great performance, sure, but it was mainly mike just bulldozing through his opponent with little concern of return fire.

as mentioned before you wont learn anything from the spinks fight. if you try that and your unexpierenced your gonna get hurt. tyson wasnt worrying about what was thrown at him it was just him killing mike spinks

Ya the Spinks fight is too short. Try the Jose Ribalta fight; it goes 10 rounds I believe and really showcases Tyson skills.

Exactly! that is what i wanted to see.

I took your advice and watched the ferguson fight- it was very informative. I noticed tyson slips alot to the inside- why is that? it seems like a bad idea to me because then he'd be in the line of fire for his opponents cross. Wouldn't it make more sense to slip outside?
