Vic is in a tough spot right now. He can't get the Thai to fight him, as he is far too protected. He doesn't have any other opponents of note in the division apart from vasquez either. He really needs to move up in weight and take on guys like Mijares, Arce and Castillo. What are your thoughts? What are the best fights out there for him, and how do you think they will play out?

Jorge, Mijares and maybe Munoz? Vic beats all these guys by KO or at worst UD. I just cant see any of them adapting to his unique style or dealing with the ridiculous power!

Personally i think Mijares would be a great fight - the boxing vs the brawler

Funny that Mijares drew with Maldonado, yet Vic destoyed him.
Still tho i like the Mijares fight the best, otherwise Munoz would be a war.
Also Martin Castillo, Jorge Arce & Fernando Montiel too.
Basically Vic vs any highly ranked latin american would be exciting.:yep

Munoz, Arce... i think these two are the most likely fights he will get. Arce will be looking to make some ground and the best way to do it is agains tthe guy most thought would take his title originally... Munoz could do with Vics name too, but maybe not worth the risk for him just yet.

Mijares is the one I want to see. He's Vic's biggest threat imo too. If Vic can stop Mijares from outboxing him he will silence any critics (not that he needs to) and he'll have fighters err fighting? to get his belts

Vics biggest fault IMO is his lack of inside game. If arce can push him back and get inside Vic will find himself in trouble. I think Arce would be his toughest fight. I watched even against Burgos, on the couple occasions he got backed up he would leave his guard down and his head up in close quarters. That will get him knocked out against a guy like Arce. Vic loves to be at boxing distance, and I think a guy like Mijares would be perfectly suited to him, because it gives his power room, and lets him find range on his shots. Vic reminds me a lot of Kostya in that regard.

Im not really to keen on an arce fight - He's been exposed. Vic should really put all his efforts into pursuing Wongjongkongsalamalakekolek. I remember reading about a month ago that he was looking at fight Vic and was willing to do so and travel out of thailand. This unification would be very important and will allow vic to land bigger fights.

Maybe move up in weight and fight someone like Alejandro Valdez

Wongjongkongsalamalakekolek is too protected; i would be really surprised if his management took the risk. He would want a hell of a lot of money to leave thailand and fight such a dangerous guy. With that said, i hope it happens mate!

The only reason that makes me think that he might leave Thailand is the fact that Vic is the only one in the divison who is a name in the US, and it would be his only real chance at getting some decent money.

They are very different fighters though, and Arce still fought very hard against Mijares. Vic looks uncomfortable when people get in close on him, and against Arce this could spell trouble. That said though pressure fighters generally have trouble with southpaws as it is hard to avoid that straight left down the middle. I think Arce could style wise be a tougher fight then Mijares for Vic. Vic will have trouble against a good mover also. Mijares isn't a mover, he is a boxer puncher like Vic, which will give him plenty of chances to land his shots.

i'd still like to see vic clean out the division before he moves on to bigger better things.. so Wongjongkongsalamalakekolek is who i'd like to see him fight. and then arce to convince the yanks.. and then mijares and castillo to put him right up on teh p4p list. then he can retire. ill let him.

Geez your letting him off easy. I have a ten year plan written out for him. IT finishes with him capturing the heavyweight title off Wladimir Klitschko. I think judging by the problems Wlad has had with his chin in the past, Vic could be a real shot at an upset:yep

Because according to Professor Julius Sumner Miller there's a glass and a half of full cream milk in every block of cadbury's chocolate (until they shrunk the block of chocolate of course. bastards)

I still have him on Facebook.

The 1st Cotto loss to Margarito hurt him so much he had to leave ESB.
Poor guy never got over it until Margarito was found to have plaster in his wraps before the Mosley fight.:good

look no way mijares beats vic he got a boxing lesson of vic & got koed hard, as for arce he has a better chance of beating vic but for all his toughness he still got worn down & almost knocked out i see there fight going the same as the first. moreno would be a good fight tho as they have never met before in the ring i think it would be a slugfest with vic winning bye ko. & as for wongjokim his managment wont risk him fighting vic they need there cash cow. cheers guys
